I know I'm a couple of days early, but felt we needed a book thread on here.

What's everyone reading at the moment?

I've just finished Bush Falls by Jonathon Tropper, was pretty good, nothing challenging or ground breaking, but well written and a decent read.

Got Disgrace by JM Coetzee and a couple of Paul Auster things to read on the train to and from London this weekend, but looking for recommendations for when I get back...

Open question to the Board. Why did I have to go to the Queen's Park website to find a report and the score? The OS advertised the match and said details would be posted at half-time and full-time. Where are they? If they are lurking in Facebook of Twitter or whatever, why?

Please give us reports with teamlines etc in the OS for us all to see, free and readily accessible.

I always liked him; one of the old school, always polite, modest, and thought carefully about what he was saying.

He became a kind of "elder statesman" of football in Scotland.

The national team won 32 and drew 18 of 71 games played when he was the manager. Not bad at all!

If anybody is interested, I have a Youtube channel with a couple of hundred short video clips of humdrum, everyday life and things in Japan. The videos are short, around 1 to 3 minutes, and as a bonus there is neither narration nor any sign of me.... I just whip out my iPhone and take videos fairly randomly. So these are not at all "tourist" or "Hey, look at me in Japan!" videos. They're just brief records of things I see in Kyoto and other places in Japan on a daily basis as a "gaijin" (GuyJim, geddit?) who's been living and working in Japan for most of the past 20 years.

My usual Sunday morning is to watch MOTD without knowing the Premier League scores from the Saturday.

I watch on "catch up" to allow me to fast forward and avoid the "talking heads" punditry and analysis.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this morning. Just highlights and nothing else.

What a lot of money the Beeb could save (licence payers/taxpayers money) if this was the norm.
