  1. Tiger is looking good for another Masters jacket. At least it stays at the club and his ex missus cant cut it up.
  2. Maybe it's just me, but I realised after the OF game at the weekend that I haven't watched Sportscene at all this season, or for that matter a couple of seasons. I might catch the highlights of a rangers defeat online but I haven't actually watched an SPL game in a long time. Its probably one of the most boring leagues in Europe, despite Motherwell having a go for 2nd place this season. I just have no interest in watching Dungfermline versus St Mirren, etc, etc, etc. My dad had a game on a few weeks ago and to be honest I cant even remember who was playing but it was the most boring type of football that the SPL serves up. Then you switch channels and watch the EPL of Championship game and its like a different sport!!! Saturday night I'll watch Match of the Day, and maybe the League Show, and on sunday I will actually avoid Sportscene and watch MOTD2 after it. But like I said, maybe its just me...........
  3. Scottish football for me is summed up by a friend of mine who ran an amateur team. They had a young lad who was a defender and had been likened to Alan Hansen. He could play the ball out of defense and could actually PLAY football. So he signs S form for Kilmarnock. Bobby Williamson is there watching the game. This lad gets the ball, runs forward, plays a pass, keeps going, receives the pass back, and lays on a great through ball for the striker to stick away. Williamson happy at this skill? Nope. He tells the lad that his job as a defender is to stay at the back and defend the goal. When he gets the ball he is to hit it forward to the strikers and not play anything fancy. He was also told if he did anything like that again he would be dropped. This isnt the first time I have heard that of coaches/managers and its still the same guys or their type that are coaching today. No wonder our players cant trap a bag of cement.
  4. Enjoyed the bit where doncaster was asked where he gets the figure of £20 million from. His answer was along the lines of "well, that would be less games as clubs only play each other twice, so its less revenue." In that case why dont we just make the league 8 teams and they could play each other 8 times a season????? He was also asked a question about rangers, but seemed to answer a completely different question totally unrelated to what he was asked. A body swerve that Archie Gemmill would have been proud of.
  5. I thought he looked like he should have had leather patches on his jacket elbows. Soooooo what did we learn that we didnt already know? The square root of FA. Regan opens his mouth and everyones brain switches off. Doncaster must be getting the full SKY package subscription free. Pressley maybe annoying for a lot of reasons but has moments of sanity. Petrie knows that he'll have to keep season ticket prices the same next season in the 1st division as in the spl. oh and Traynor's neck is wider than his head, and he believes himself to be the saviour of scottish football as he has all the answers. TIT!!! One saving grace was there was no sign of Chic Dung. Phew.
  6. Quote of the week from Watty..............."Football is about footballers". eh, thanks for that.
  7. Watching this debate just now and I can't help thinking that we have far too many organisations in football, and none of them can agree on the best way forward. Yes, they all agree we need to make changes, but they can't agree on how. Scarely I find myself agreeing with Pressley!!! Jim Traynor is still a fud. (and looks like Jabba the Hutt), Regan just annoys me, and Doncaster wears too much hair gel.
  8. If nothing else I hope it puts to rest once and for all the notion that players would die for the jersey or play for nothing. Watching bbc1's debate and its already a joke. Traynor said that clubs that are owned money by rangers goes to prove that they need rangers. WTF!?!?!?!? At least Petrie hinted that every other club was honest enough to playby the rules, whereas rangers didnt.
  9. Had to switch it off coz he was actually making me sick with his delight that rangers would only play in the spl. I guess it means he wont have to go to peterhead on a cold, wet tuesday night in december to see his team be humbled 4-0 by a team of fishermen. Re Greg Wylde....it was said on sportsound, sorry rangerslovein, that he was showing decency, etc etc, blah, blah blah by asking for his contract to be ripped up. Bollocks!!!! He hasnt played for ages and his agent has already lined up a few championship clubs that he can go straight to, without deferring his wages.
  10. Listening to sportsound at the mo. Chic Young couldnt be anymore biased towards rangers if he painted himself blue and sang the sash on radio. TWAT!!!
  11. The latest today is that Portsmouth were in contact with rangers to see if they want to play a friendly game and the proceeds are split between the clubs.
  12. I'm beginning to come around to the thinking that this was Craig Whyte's plan all along. I remember when he took over rangers the question was asked why a guy that likes his privacy and that people know very little about, would get involved with rangers and all that entails. Now we know.
  13. Was interesting on wednesday night to listen to Hugh Keevins and Britney Speirs squirm when a caller suggested that the media should have know, or at least investigated all of this a long time ago. But that because they were so cozy with rangers they didnt bother. The caller asked why no one looked into this. Hugh replied by asking the caller why HE thought no one had. The caller said it wasnt up to him to comment on it, at which point Hugh said that he wasnt going to either, and goodbye. Guys like him, traynor, chic young, et al, are so intwined with the old firm that they dont want to rock the boat and have their "exclusives" taken away from them by the clubs. So they play nice and never ask any serious questions. It took me 5 minutes to go back on the bbc's own sports website to see they had mentioned in a story back in december 2010 that Whyte had a number of companies that had gone to the wall in his business history, AND that he had also been involved in tax non-payment before. Yet no one queried why this guy was seen as a fit and proper person to take over rangers. The old guard of the news media havent actually did any real investigative journalism for years. But I bet if the h*ns get papped down the the 3rd, they'll still get a big right up of their game against Annan on a wet and windy tuesday night in december.
  14. C'mon admit it, who had a wee tear in their eye watching the videos???? You all know who you are. lol Well done to Maxi who welcomed us as we came in and did his part all night. Got a photo of my two heroes together which made my night. Dad and Roughie. Could maybe have done without the "comedian" though. And Lance, you did need makeup. lol
  15. That was awful!!!!!!!!!! And I'm not only talking about the two women behind me that managed to talk without taking a breath for 90 minutes!!!! Fox was a bombscare at times and I think his confidence in the defense is low (I cant blame him). And at the same time the defense's confidence in him is low. Archie has been good over the years for us but I think maybe its time to call it quits. Has no pace and some of his tackling and going up for high balls with his arm up leaves me with the impression he is now past it. Balatoni looked, well lets be generous and say "heavy". Paton for me brings nothing to the team. He doesnt tackle or speed by players. All he does it get the ball on his right foot and now and again manage to find a team mate. Sinclair needs to start getting down the wing more, Alan Hutton style, instead of passing the ball and stopping dead. Thankfully Erskine looked much better than he has been of late and it was nice to actually see a jags player taking on their opposite number for a change in the game. We were poor, but won. So I guess I should be happy.
