  1. Men's Quarter Finals fixtures Greenock Morton v Heart of Midlothian - H1 Celtic v Livingston Aberdeen v Kilmarnock Hibernian v Rangers Men's Quarter Finals predictions worth 6 points each. Men's & Women's QFs are played on the same weekend (9 & 10 March). Therefore, same deadline for both. Deadline 1pm, Friday 8 March 14 ties left to play. It's time to make predictions count. From the Quarter Finals you can post predictions as normal or send them by PM. The choice is yours. Any predictions sent by PM will be posted on the thread, after the deadline, for transparency. You can change your predictions at any time before the deadline. However, if you choose to post predictions on the thread, you cannot subsequently change them by PM. Predictions received after the deadline will be invalid.
  2. Men's Fifth Round standings As you were at the top. JAGSMAN1968 up to joint 3rd. With a maximum of 93 points available, it's now mathematically impossible for particktheunderdog to win. There's always next season.
  3. Men's Quarter Finals draw Greenock Morton v Airdrieonians or Heart of Midlothian Celtic v Livingston Aberdeen v Kilmarnock Hibernian v Rangers
  4. Great result today. Unexpected point. Well done Jags.
  5. Men's Fifth Round 9 players made exactly the same predictions as the leader for this round. The six that didn't, and gambled on the country's 16th placed team beating the 8th placed, gained 6 points last night. At this stage, a good gamble worth making.
  6. It may work in rugby but I don't see how it will improve football. Teams will use legitimate time wasting tactics to slow the game down while they have a player in the sin bin. Who wants to see the ball taken in to the corner in the first half, it's bad enough at the end of the game. Referees won't punish everyone for cynicism, dissent etc. or we'll be playing 7 v 8. In a scenario where a group of angry players confront the referee, will he instantly reduce that team to 7 players (or 6, and abandon the game)? Referees will use their discretion as they do now and face criticism of bias. I'm all for cutting out the cynicism but football needs to find an appropriate sanction. My suggestion would be to award a free kick to be taken anywhere the team chooses, outside the penalty area. If offences continue then award a penalty. I will use the lady-isobel-barnett defence here. I haven't thoroughly thought this through.
  7. Then the sub keeper can play as a striker and score from 30yds. Guess you would have to use two substitutions, if available, to get the sub goalie off again. If you don't have two subs left, you would have to put an outfield player in goal for 10 mins.
  8. Would have to sub an outfield player, assuming all subs have not been made.
