  1. Ex- Thistle player? - Paddy Boyle had a good season at Gateshead I believe, so it could be him. Also what about David Clarkson ( ex-Motherwell) who I know has been injured but he was quite a promising striker at one point. Also I always liked Stephen Pearson too.
  2. Just noticed that Caledonian Travel in Hope Street are doing a tour of Torquay including the "beautiful" Buckfast Abbey! Big seller in their Coatbridge branch no doubt!
  3. I'm having some of the family for my Birthday over on Saturday night and although I would like to sing chants all night, it won't go down well. I know this a bit corny and has been done over and over again. How about compiling a list of songs about the Jags that are all about this season? So I can play them without the wife knowing I'm saluting the Thistle. Here's some for starters; The Clash - I fought the Lawless (and the Lawless won) Julian Cope - Moore Shut Your Mouth Hot Chocolate - It Started With a Glasgow Kiss ( Although I prefer Paul Kelly's version of the song). The Eagles - Doolan Dalton Thin Lizzy - Scotty The Fox Joe Tex - G.I.R.U.Y.M. (The Letter Song) Diesel Park West - Jackie's Still Sad Black Sabbath - Never Say Die DMX - We Got This ( Parental Advisory on that one) Lindisfarne - Fog On The Line
  4. I was thinking more manly gnomes than this "happy" little fellow.
  5. One Sexy Polis . . I don't know I remember Angie Dickinson in Police Woman in the 70's and my mate was besotted by Glynis Barber as Harry Makepeace from Dempsey and Makepeace in the 80's, never mind Kyra Sedgwick from the Closer from this era. Not so keen on Cagney or Lacey (although there was 3 different Lacey's overall!) though.
  6. I'm a bit disappointed more people haven't joined this fundraising opportunity. I joined last year and roped my wife in too. Between us we have raised over £100 without going on mad spending sprees. Already this year I raised £12.50 from Thomas Cook for booking my summer holiday and £8.50 for a 4 night stay in Aviemore via Late Rooms.com. So get in there and join it only takes minutes to set up!
  7. I'm just glad it's coming to an end. I have a couple of hundred cans to drop off but I'm getting too many strange looks from people every time I pick them up off the ground. Also is roadkill cans counted too, cause there's a few flattened ones out on my street?
  8. How about we contact the Chinese and get a few hundred terracotta army statues, dress them up in Thistle strips and scarves with chants recorded from the North End being played. No ? Too costly. Well downsize it a bit with lots of red and yellow bedecked garden gnomes. We could each donate our own.
