  1. Only spoke to Susan once. A few years ago she started talking to me after we had parked our cars on Garscube Road. She told me she had some Thistle memorabilia, sounds like an understatement. Condolences to family and friends. RIP Susan.
  2. Morton on a 7 game unbeaten run, iirc we were the last team to beat them. According to what i have read they are a physical team that like to press, which we struggle against. I think if everybody is fit the only change from last week's starting lineup will be O'Reilly for Muirhead. Let's hope BBG does all his talking on the park.
  3. Agree. Most concentrate on the second leg but we could've and should've had a bigger lead after the first leg.
  4. Some of the refs decisions were contentious, but we were 3-0 ahead in aggregate with 20 minutes to go. We also had chances to score more in normal and extra time, we could have also won the penalty shoot out. We blew it. If we get into the same position again we have got to show we learned from that last 20 minutes in Dingwall and not make the same mistakes again.
  5. Welcome to Firhill Dan. Hope you have a successful time with us. From a Raith Rovers fan on pie and bovril; Surely can't be the financial side as we have been assured that we're throwing money at it this season.
  6. 4 Goals, a clean sheet and 3 points, a very good afternoon's work. Graham took his goal well, getting past the defender, getting the ball before their keeper and putting it in from a tight angle. The second goal made the 3 points safe. Good to see Adeloye get 2 goals, he could have easily had a hat trick. Bannigan had his best game for a while. Will be a very tough game next week against a Morton side on a seven game unbeaten run.
  7. Agree with those that say we will start with the same as Tuesday. Depending how the game is going i think McBeth will get some game time tomorrow. As others have said although Arbroath are second bottom of the league this will not be an easy game. Would be good to see us start on the front foot. Tuesday night it took us about 10 minutes to get into the game, which is quicker than some other games. Also cut out the mistakes Thistle.
  8. Plus points for me, 2 goals from corners and 3 points. Negative Sneddon conceding a terrible goal, only excuse could be he maybe thought he was about to come out his area when he dived down to try and gather the ball, even so terrible goal to lose and he did look a bit shaky after it as well. As already mentioned Adeloye held the ball up well in the dying minutes of the game. 3 Points and with the other results we are cementing our position in the top 4. Imo Queens Park did not look the worst team in the league. Another big game on Saturday against Arbroath.
  9. My new year resolution. Don't make any resolutions.
  10. To everybody with a connection to Thistle a very happy and healthy 2024. A glass of Shloer raised to everybody.
  11. As well as the other things that has been mentioned that hampered Doolan for the last transfer window, it was his first one as a manager. Many more experienced managers have had poor transfer windows.
  12. After the disappointing way we lost out in getting promotion, i thought we could have a bit of a hangover this season as i have seen this happen with other teams. Morton being relegated the season after they finished 2nd to us in the league for example. As others have mentioned our financial problems and key players who left also put us on the back foot. At the moment we look comfortable in 3rd but the teams below us do have games in hand, so imo we still have a lot to do to get a play off place. No more performances like last night would help. January will be a big month with the transfer window and also with our first 2 games against the current bottom 2 in the league at home, 6 points from these 2 games would be most welcome. But we do have the memories from nearly a year ago when we had a similar scenario and lost both games, so nothing can be taken for granted. For me if we get a play off place at the end of the season it will be job done. Anything better is a bonus.
  13. Imo since the inception of VAR, common sense has been binned.
  14. I hope everybody with any connection to Thistle had a good Christmas, got everything they wanted and most important of all spent it with everyone they wanted to spend it with and if that was not possible, they live on in our memories and our hearts.
  15. We could not have started any worse conceding in something like 25 seconds or so. We took about 10 minutes to get some moves going, but after we equalised we were the better team and had a penalty shout when Milne looked to have been pushed over at a corner. The second half we did not do a lot and ICT were the better team. They also had a shout for a penalty and although it would have been soft it was in the seen it given category. For me a point a piece was a fair outcome. It must have been very difficult playing in that weather as well. All the best to @Fawlty Towers and @stillresigned hope yous have a quick recovery from your ills and it doesn't impact on your festive celebrations.
  16. What a mess we were left in by the previous board. Good to see we are now on the right road thanks to the hard work now being done by the current board.
  17. IIRC Dowds did well for us up to about December last year and then his form dropped badly. He did pick up an injury in January i think, but never looked the same player after that. Will be interesting to see how he does till the end of the season with Ayr.
  18. Thanks couldn't see clearly who it was.
  19. Just seen our goals. From a defensive point of view extremely poor. I think looking at our point of view they are good goals. For the first Stevie puts in a great cross and very good header from Harry. The second Alston (i think) headers on the dropped ball by their keeper and BBG just turns and shoots. If these goals were scored in the Premier imo they would have raved about them.
  20. He knew how to give a punchy answer.
  21. 50 years this year when Merry Xmas Everybody topped the charts.
  22. Seen them a couple of times in the seventies, they were brilliant.
  23. If he thinks it is so bad in Scotland he should have stayed at Morecambe.
  24. On loan from Motherwell until January. Been injured.
