  1. There is no community at the club. the majority of the fanbase (myself included) lives outside the local area and travels in from a scattering of places. as a club we have totally neglected the possil/ruchill/maryhill/milton type areas in the vicinity of the ground. if you went through the databse of jagzone/season ticket holders etc how many would live in milngavie, bearsden, bishopbriggs, cumbernauld, the west end etc compared to these places? we're too busy spending time doing pointless pr exercises on things like funny looking mascots
  2. the boy dylan tait playing for raith last night was seemingly released by us! playing in their first team and hes only just turned 18. what a hatchet job archie, scott mckenzie etc did on the academy. some amount of these boys only becoming players when they leave the club, the amount of cricket scores that youth team used to get as well. all of weirs money in that academy wasted and even with our shit squad and players unavailable last night due to being cup tied and we still couldnt even get a youth player on the bench. its mad how poorly we are run as a club at every level.
  3. I really hope Archie isn't taking training again. McCall has always been hands off at his clubs with training and delegated it. Last time Archie was leading the squad we had constant injury problems and were often toiling late in games.
  4. This might be needed. Most of the team needs to go, and a wake up call for McCall in recent weeks r.e. O'Ware and Bannigan players he said he wanted to build around, but they are not the players they were and we need to be ruthless. Big Col needs to loosen the purse strings or we're ******.

Right so we own Firhill in full again, but now what? I'd like to see some sort of plan for the disaster that is the bing and also for the future of the main stand.

Paul Goodwin getting slated heavily on P&B. By fans of other clubs discussing his previous work. Sounds like an absolute chancer.

so seemingly the warriors are considering a move back to firhill now after planning problems with scotstoun!?
  8. Was enough for me to be positive about. We were very good at moving the ball. Think we could do with a player with some dig in the middle we were a bit light when it went to 3-2. Overall though, it was decent. Their goals came from mistakes, much easier to sort out as opposed to teams genuinely carving us open. Was sat not far from the Clyde fans, and it was 90 minutes of anti Thistle songs. Including several about John Lambie. How desperate must they be to get noticed. Between the scumbags they sign and the songs they song, what a pathetic wee club.

It doesn't matter if its Chien Lee or Paul Conway or Bill Gates. Theres again a portion of Thistle fans who regardless of the person don't want outsiders at the club. Yet the reality is the base of Thistle fans and their pals pals with disposable income and the knowledge to run a professional football club at this point has truly been exhausted. By all means however, let the fans run the club like a bowling club committee, because thats what they want, they demonstrate that every single time. They didn't want Gary Caldwell over Archie, god forbid Kris Doolan leave, now its suggested that someone who doesn't have a connection to the club might want to buy it and again its a no no. We've a cheek to mock the old firm attitude of only wanting people of their own ilk, we're worse.

At this point I don't care. Success at all costs. Don't care about the trust, or people on the board being fans or having a connection to the club. Thats an old firm way of thinking thats crept into Thistle a lot when if it isn't someone who we deem as being one of us we chastise them with an incredible amount of paranoia, Caldwell has been going through that since the day he got the job. We won't get rid of managers or players or people with a connection to the club because they've served us well. Club needs to be a lot more ruthless. Again, like Kilmarnock, we sat with our finger up our arse with Archie and they binned Lee McCulloch and got Clarke in. Kilmarnock should not really be much bigger if at all than Thistle yet in the last 25 years they've not been relegated, been in Europe umpteen times, beaten the old firm more than I care to remember, won two cups, several high finishes etc, and guess what they've run up a lot of debt as well at several points, but success will never come for free, it hasn't for any provincial club anywhere, and look how many managers Killie went through in the time we were in the top league. Lots, because they have a fanbase with higher expectations whilst we were largely just greatful to be in that league. Thats what years of suffering in the lower leagues has done to us, the slightest improvement and we get nose bleeds and misty eyed.

I am all for this. The club IMO is on the verge of another sleepy period after relegation as has happened each of the last three periods we've dropped out of the top league. There isn't the money or the infrastructure to get us up on our own. If we do somehow go up, it won't be sustained. It was only sustained for a brief period last time out whilst a load of bigger clubs worked their way through some problems and when they all returned refreshed to the top league we got relegated. I have quite a laid back attitude to it. I see people online who have been very critical of Low and Caldwell suddenly having reservations about this. Well IMO we have suffered enough, and again someone pointed out Hearts, Livi, Dundee etc had questionable ownership, well big ******* deal, they all got into Europe, won cups in some cases and then shafted their creditors in the end anyway or hell in other cases clubs have went bust and its as if it never happened. Everyone's done it whilst we've played by the rules and still almost ran into serious problems on several occasions needing new investment on the board and a rugby team to bail us out, and here we are again closing stands, cutting back on staff at the club. We're now verging on a generation of PTFC supporters who know us as a lower league club. A skint one as well. Theres a very low self esteem attitude at PTFC. People treat ambition as a bad word. Years and years of underachievement will do that I suppose. When did we last take a gamble of any sort? You've got a team like Killie for instance who are in now in Europe simply on the basis of taking a financial gamble on an outstanding manager. They went from relegation contenders to the best of the rest with that one decision pretty much. Much the same players as the previous manager. In relative terms to their wealth their investment is going to cost them pennies. Theres a core of fans at the club who will take 6th or worse in this league until the end of time because you know "I just want a club to support". This guy I don't think is going to splash the cash, we're just going to be another part of the system, but hes our best hope in a long time of genuine wealth coming into the club which can propell us to a sustainably higher level. Get rich or die trying I say. I can't take another decade of mediocrity at this level and just sporting an acceptance of existence.
  12. Hes getting the Archie treatment now, Gets a free ride because of his service to the club, but its not working at all. Has barely kicked a ball for months, yet folk like Storey because they've always been shite get way more criticism than Dools. Theres a serious problem with sentimentality at Thistle and its going to cost us two straight relegations at this rate. We are blatantly happy to carry passengers because they have given good service to the club at one point or another.
  13. Need better than Harkins hes done. Only have to look at his age and the clubs hes been binned from recently.
  14. They will be spitting after losing to part-timers. 3-0 United.
  15. Doolan and Banzo are shot fighters. Banzo still committing a mountain of fouls and lucky not to be shown a red card, never kicked on and added goals or assists, still always getting booked and giving away silly fouls. A million balls across the box today and Doolan nowhere near any of them. It happened with the manager, if we keep sticking with players like them and Christie Elliott we are going to be fighting for our lives all season. Its the cuddly toy Thistle way though.
  16. The financial position will be undone by the next set of accounts, especially if we go down again.
  17. Eh? He got Raith into the play-offs. Look at them now. He knows a lot more about this league than Caldwell.
  18. He was talking shite on the radio again. Said we were outstanding. Same shite as it was under Archie. Same shite style of play and timid mentality, same shite soundbytes. The subs again today were crap. Against a shite Falkirk team he took off an attacking player for a defensive one, took off one our few players with guts in Quitongo. Has one single window for me to turn it around. The terrifying thing is I have no idea what sort of players he'll go for, where as I know Ray McKinnon will bring in proven players at this level.
  19. We could have played till tomorrow and not scored and were still very dodgy at the back. so no change from archie
  20. We're a disgrace. Low Self Esteem FC.
  21. Getting fed up of Slater as well, he lost the ball in the run up to the 1st and 4th goals. A very powderpuff player who is the king of the useless crossfield pass and the 30 yard curled shot high and wide of the goal.
  22. We've been building Coulibaly into a Messi type player for months because of the resignation amongst people about the rest of the shit we have. November and hes not kicked a ball, literally and figuratively.
  23. Gutless is defo part of it, but I think some of these boys are too young/thick to realise they are fighting for their careers. Was the exact same in 04/05 with players like One, Anis, Ross etc. How often do you hear senior pros say they thought that their career would go on forever when they were young and before they know it, they've got to go out and graft like everybody else. Some will get another shot at a low full-time level before the inevitable but I can't see any of our senior pros at least making anything of their careers long term. Archie's legacy as a manager has been to leave us a team with not one worthwhile asset signed by him. No one with any value, no one who we can build the team around.
  24. Hows it nonsense? They're a much better team spending nowhere near as much on players wages.
