Worth considering that last season after St J had played 8 games, they were 8 points ahead of 2nd place..We were 9 behind but had played 2 games less. By the time we had made up the games, we were level with St J. It is obviously a bit different this season as we aren’t scoring regularly enough at the moment.

Just skimmed through the TJF update. On the finances they said that commercial revenue was up 24% on last year. Is that compared to season 25/26 ?

Maybe didn’t express it properly. If there were no games scheduled for the international break, no one would have to ask for a postponement. However, clubs could rearrange a midweek scheduled game for the international break weekend to take advantage of potential higher attendance.

Not sure that I understand the logic of lower league clubs only being postponed when 3 players are away on international duty. All premiership games are postponed irrespective of 3+ players being away. It seems unfair that a lower league club can have up to almost 20% of starters being missing, not counting injured players for a game. I would have all the clubs having the international break, but with the option to play, if the clubs agree to play.

Last season the rationale for Stanway not being picked was that he wouldn’t be eligible for the next tournament. McFarlane must be in the same position as they are same age - both birthdays in September. They will be 22 this month. ETA - maybe it was McPherson that was going to be too old.
