  1. Just following up on this. I have now seen it in 3 places as 1048 which I am sure is wrong. Really a question for the archivists. Is there somewhere that “official” attendances are logged ?
  2. Apart from their 2 games vs Dundee Utd their attendances have been between 1500 and 1700 this season. This is similar to last season.
  3. Thought it must have been a mistake or Arbroath fans giving up.
  4. A good result and keeping a good gap between us and 5th place. BBC reporting that the attendance was just over 1,000, which would be their lowest by quite some distance.
  5. Good that Neilson is in. Who are Campbell and Horn ?
  6. At this stage of the season to keep our playoff place we need to match 5th place - at the moment Morton. If we want to keep 3rd spot we need to match Airdrie - obviously not playing but would be Raith who they have the upper hand on. So, I would say that a win is probably needed.
  7. Neilson didn’t play last night and the U21s don’t have another game this window, I don’t think. Don’t think I would put McBeth back in midfield as I feel the team just didn’t work with him there.
  8. Yeah, sorry about that Jagfox. Must’ve been typing at the time you posted.
  9. Weather looks like it’s going to be windy. Form wise, there isn’t much to choose between the two sides - results have been pretty poor over the last 8 to 10 games. Hoping we can keep up our recent good results in the head to heads. Six wins in the last 10 and only 1 defeat. Personnel wise, I suppose Neilson will be missing so that might mean a chance for Stanway. Otherwise, probably the same starters as last week.
  10. My recollection of him with us was that he was the kind of player that played well when the team played well but was noticeably absent when we needed some fight. Scored some great goals.
  11. I don’t get it. They aren’t the only team that have someone with a long throw.
  12. The defence looked much more solid and it was disappointing we lost the goal at the end. We should’ve had 3 or 4 by that point though and they wouldn’t have scored if Zander hadn’t had a brain freeze a few moments beforehand. The win was the most important thing, though.
  13. Although I suggested the possibility of playing McBeth at Centreback and Neilson in midfield, why don’t we go back to the system and personnel that was so fruitful in November, December and January
  14. You replied to Norge who was replying to Javea. He asked “Can we keep the goals against to one”
  15. The question wasn’t about clean sheets, though.
  16. Although, it has only been one in each of the last two at Firhill.
  17. As Westertonjagfan is having a cup of coffee, I will just nip in and start the match thread. What does Doolan try next ? McBeth looked ok when he replaced Muirhead at centre back. Assuming Muirhead is fit, maybe a McBeth Muirhead combination with Stanway and Neilson in midfield ?
  18. I don’t have much to argue against this. Although, I would say it is a while since we have had a really balanced squad. Last season it wasn’t until Doolan came in that we started getting shut outs. Regarding point 4, I’ve said it before he changed something that he had already fixed. Between October and end Jan we conceded only 16 goals in 13 games. So, why did he change it ?
  19. It sounds like a simple and logical thing to do, but the people we had on the park and the bench are those that are available for him to pick from. He tried something different against Dundee Utd and it was almost successful. Williams got injured. So that trial was aborted. He tried Milne at Centre back vs QP, which didn’t really work, but Adeloye coming on sparked a come back but he got injured. What would you do next ?
  20. Going by that I guess Neilson will be back in central defence and Milne at left wing back.
  21. Or not available for personal reasons?
  22. A little over 24 hours to kick off. Assuming no injuries from last week, I guess Doolan will go with the same team as last week. Hopefully the additional week working this set up improves our attacking options as well. QP are a different proposition under Davidson so we will need to be at the top of our game. Time for us to get back on winning ways.
  23. I think pretty much every result matters in such a wee league. I think that’s 3 games that Morton have had the chance to go above us and failed. After our form in the playoffs last season, it is hard to see how a team finishing 3rd/4th gets promoted.
