  1. This link will be your best bet for the latest NYC "soccer" bar scene. You can pick up print copies in most of the bars showing the games http://www.firsttouchonline.com/soccer-pubs-nyc/ (appologies for the photo on the front cover). If you have time and want to watch the games with ex pats the best bet is the scots club (link above in my previous post) would also give you the opportunity to see the Red Bulls stadium I can also give you a list of celtic bars to avoid if that helps too
  2. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Scots_-_American_Club,_Kearney,_N.J..jpg Ask for Alice at the bar. Great place shows all the games. Need to get the PATH train from NYC get off at Harrison (red bulls stadium) walk up to kearny ave
  3. Full Thistle v Dundee utd game is on BT sport catch up tv player. Just watched it again. Don't know how we didn't get 2 penalties.
  4. Jonathan Tuffey Steven Craigan Willie Jamieson Conrad Ballatoni Andy Wilkinson Lucas Atkins James Craigan David Moss Gareth Evans Wayne Foster Rod McDonald
  5. Had a go at this today and came up with this. Any other suggestions? Jakup Mikkelsen Daniele Charini Adrian Madaschi Steve Pitman George O’Neill Quinton Jacobs Jorge Cadete Jean Yves Anis Jukka Santala Peter Lindau Armand One
  6. I watched the last game from up there. Great view of the pitch but sadly that was all that was great that day.
  7. guy in front of me ripped it down at half time. ppl singing wrong club wrong flag.
  8. I like somewhere with plenty of screens to watch any of the earlier games. The Woodside only seems to show BBC games most of the time although they did show Man U v Reading after the game last week. The best place I found for this is the Rock on Hyndland road although as mentioned in an earlier post its not as close to the ground.
  9. How is this place? Does it get much of a crowd pre/post game? Also wondered if it or the Royalty show all live games? Last week I went to the Rock Bar and thought this was a really good pre match bar as it has both the SPL and Premiership games live on a big screen and the other on a large LCD TV
  10. I drove past the blaze pitches that sit behind the Strathmore pub today and realized I've never really noticed them before. As the awful idea of blaze fields is now being rooted out I wondered if any local/amateur teams use them? It looks like there is one full size and 2 small sized pitches all under flood lights. Its a shame to think they are being unused. Perhaps a good option for the club to lay some grass or 5G Turf and have a training facility?
  11. Only 6 first division teams will be involved in Mondays draw...is this always the case? And does anyone know how they were selected? I thought the third round was traditionally when all the teams including the premier league joined in.
  12. Reading reports today on various blogs that the bun's first signing under the EBT dual contracts being investigated by the SPL was one Christian Nerlinger. We should ask for our share of the scottish cup final money and a replay!
  13. Whilst reading about the buns current financial mess and their comical "we don't do walking away" slogan I noticed a few sources mentioning their lowest Ibrox crowd was against Thistle on May 23rd 1979 with a reported attendance of 2000. However this is apparently an estimate and not an official SFL recording. For the same season Thistle's crowds v Rangers @ Firhill are quoted as 20,641 on Nov 4th 1978 and 18,685 on March 17th 1979. While the other game at Ibrox was 24,500 in August 1978. Im therefore sceptical about the 2000 crowd and wondered if anyone on here can remember being at that game and the size of the crowd? The figures are included here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1978–79_Rangers_F.C._season Incidentally we won the Nov 4th game 1-0. There is no scorer listed on the link. Anyone know who scored Thistles goal?
  14. That was a great day. Lots of good memories; the nerves, the great atmosphere, the sight of both sets of fans twirling the scarfs in their thousands behind the goals, and then everyone staying in the stadium after the final whistle with ears glued to the radios waiting on the St Johnstone result. The post match party at the Woodside afterwards was fantastic too. The place was a shrine to the Jags back then.
