Absolutely agree that it would be harsh, but a fit and firing Robinson is one of our best players who could be vital in such an important game. I suppose that Zander would have to make way, but he should get some significant game time later, as both Robinson and McInroy tend to fade after an hour.
I would start the same and bring on a fresh Robbo after an hour to have a go against tired defenders

If Robinson is fully fit, I can see him starting. I would expect that O’Reilly and Bannigan will be on the bench with the hope that they can come on later.
But who would you drop for Robbo ? Xander or McInroy would be the obvious, but both had decent games at Raith so would be harsh

Assuming that we regard Stanway, Mackenzie and Diack as regular members of the first team squad, I suppose that you also have some of the other younger players (Loney, Horn etc) who have filled out the bench for our recent games. It is, however, difficult to imagine such inexperienced players being pitched in for any substantial part of a game that is in any way meaningful in terms of league position and prize money.
There might also potentially be a slight question mark, even if a game is totally meaningless for us. Just say that come the last day of the season, we are either 4 points ahead of, or 4 points behind, Airdrie (ie the final result cannot affect our league position) and we are playing Dundee United, who have had a slight stumble and are only 2 points ahead of Raith Rovers. Is there any issue over competitive integrity, and could we be sanctioned for turning out a severely weakened team and handing Dundee United the automatic promotion place?
I’d also question what it would do for these players to be sent out, even in a meaningless game to get gubbed 6 or 7 nil.
Also what would the senior players left out think of the match appearance money missing from their wages ?

But the question remains, what others ?

Strictly speaking yes. And I'll be honest and say I'd forgotten about Ayr United, and their goal difference took a huge boost today.
But overturning a 14 or 15 goal difference in 6 games, which is what Dunfermline or Ayr would have to do, is a big ask. I'm an anxious football fan, but even I'm saying that's never going to happen.
To make it a bit easier, it is only 3 games. Very unlikely, but can’t quite guarantee it yet. This is the Jags we are talking about

Playoff secured. Wee battle now for third
Not quite 1 more point to be certain.

Dunfermline back level
-
I’d be happy if our score and Airdrie’s remain as they currently stand.
-
Xander left and Fitz right ?
McInroy in the more advanced role ?

And no Xander... So McInroy wide right probably.
Other than the McKenzie in the starting 11

I think I want Dunfermline to win today, will give us a better shot at 3rd. Also good to have Airdrie lose momentum. Although as long as we pick up the points, doesn’t really matter.
That would be ideal

Well Dundee Utd have beaten Morton and now have a clear lead at the top of the championship.
Although arithmetically Morton can still reach 4th place I think this defeat effectively confirms their place in next seasons championship.
Regarding the Rsith game I can't recall the Jags ever winning at Starks Park. However regardless of the team formation I have a feeling we will win tomorrow. Thr least I expect is a draw.
I do recall a win there back in the 80’s. Mojo scored only to have it chalked off to award us a penalty !

So we really just need a better result than Dunfermline tomorrow and the playoff will be secured.
Not quite. We need to get 2 points more than Dunfermline to be secured. If we draw and they lose, they can still draw level on points

I would quite like a combination of your personnel with Laukat's formation, ie
Mitchell
McBeth Neilson Muirhead
McMillan McInroy Stanway Milne
Robinson Fitzpatrick
Graham
Only drawback is absence of Neilson may leave centre midfield a little lightweight.
The back 3 doesn’t work when all 3 defenders are right sided. Muirhead on the left of a back 3 is a no from me.
Same formation as normal with Fitz on right and Xander on the left -

Tried that position before didn't work out
Play him upfront with Graham and go 4 4 2
That still needs someone to play wide right
also is Tomi not out ? BBG doesn’t usually last 90 mins so who would be on the bench to replace him.

I do worry about Airdrie. On form and playing some decent football of late.
A bit like us last season

It would also be nice to beat Raith this season too
Save that for the playoff semi final

Your right although we may well be pipped to third place - as Airdrie really are on an impressive run which would be a pity due to the financial diference between third and fourth. Though as i said previously we should hopefully have a healthy gate against them a week on saturday in what will be a big game for both teams
Trouble is that 3 of the games - Raith, Airdrie and United are very loseable

Robinson picks up McCrea FS Player of the Month prize for March | Partick Thistle FC (ptfc.co.uk)
I see Scott Robinson deservedly got player of the month for March. Well done to Scott.
I had been critical at the time of Doolan for the signing not for his ability but due to the injury record as was concerned we were signing someone who looked like they were not going to be able to play. However he has like many others made me eat my words and turned out to be a very key player for us who if we manag to qualify for the playoffs will certainly have played his part.
On another note just reading in there that his mother had had some health issues over the last year. Hoping that she has made a full recovery and is feeling much better.
Keep up the great work Scott
On that qualifying for the playoffs, after last night, just 5 points needed from the last 4 games to be guaranteed a place

Until they play us. Sigh.

Games in hand to level off matches played tonight. From Jags perspective probs wanting Raith to beat Airdrie and Ayr to beat Morton.
Not going well so far

Sorry for Stevie - tough injury to come back from. Reckon he's a pretty resilient character though.
Is Xander not an option?
My immediate thought was Xander on the left and Fitz on the right. Nguema might also be a wide option. Alternatively bring Fitz more central and have Robbo and Fitz supporting BBG and an extra body in midfield.
Time during the week to try things out and see what works

Will be making this season’s hospitality debut at Airdrie game. Always a good day out
Looking likely we will be playing them 3 times in 5 games

We were in 3rd place prior to the last game, so we only dropped one spot.
But if we had won instead of drawing, we would have been second instead of fourth

History says that statistics become meaningless when it comes to Thistle. The more unlikely a thing is the more likely Thistle will do it.
