  1. Don't usually go along with much Tam Cowan says but I found myself in total agreement with his slagging of Craig Burley. Evidently the semi-literate Mr Burley was co-commenting on an SPL match involving Hamilton. Despite the game being televised, kicking off at some ridiculous hour, possibly the fourth time the two teams had played that season, Burley still managed to turn his attention to the Hamilton support and decry them for turning up in such poor numbers.
  2. If it's the poster I'm thinking of it could well be Cloud Cuckoo Land
  3. Defies belief. One week we're congratulating ourselves on getting some money in our coffers thru a friendly. A few weeks later we could be losing a substantial amount on a trip to Elgin or Peterhead.
  4. This inane competition usually end up costing us. If it's midweek best for club finances an away tie to someplace nearby and let them pay the expenses. To be honest I don't even know if the next round is regionalised or not. Obviously don't want another Div 1 side so that kinda leave me wanting Stirling away.
  5. Stewart's finish yesterday was, to use the jargon, clinical. It's just the very type of goal that we've been far too inclined to miss. If that's Stewart playing badly and still scoring I can live with it. I don't think he had a very good game yesterday by any means but I'm confident that the Doolan/Stewart partnership will be effective.
  6. Double exposure. Great photos as ever, Tommy. Very much appreciated
  7. Pitch playing a bit slow also.
  8. Some result. 3rd division side beating a 1st division team away from home. With one of their players severely constipated makes the result all the more remarkable.
  9. Bathgate is the largest town in Scotland without a Pets at Home. Since the Glenhead Inn shut Coalsnaughton is the largest village in Scotland without a public house. No resident of Pittenweem has ever been convicted of arson.
  10. Fairly sure we can't play trialists. Despite it being the Challenge Cup I think we'll go with a strong starting eleven with maybe some of the least experienced lads on the bench. Paton looked like he needed the run out last Saturday, so I'd expect Campbell to be in the squad and maybe even start. Might be worth starting with Grehan if only to give him yet another chance to impress. One player we'll need to give as much 1st team experience to as possible will be Lindsay. I don't feel it would be wise to put that off as we've little cover on the left defensive side and he could easily be called upon to play for for lengthy periods throughout the season.
  11. I believe they're just going thru the motions with this. Heard weeks ago that a certain ex-chairman was a shoe-in for the job.
  12. Angus Meldrum, recent marketing director of Tennent Caledonian Brewery, once approached me and requested I pose for the back of one of his tins of cooking lager. Can't start to tell you the pleasure I got rubbing the remains of my back pudding supper into his ugly bearded coupon.
  13. That's really annoying especially if you're ordering online. Bad enough different manufacturers having different standard measures but you shouldn't have to anticipate the same manufacturer will change sizes. Football strips are exorbitant at the best of times. You shouldn't have to go to further expence and inconvenience returning them.
  14. Falkirk sign goalie McGovern ex Ross Co. Quite a respectable signing
  15. I'm happy to leave such team selection to Ian Cameron. Having pecking orders for senior players is all very well I suppose but I'd be shocked if I thought we treat the under 19s in a similar fashion.
  16. No reason to believe Ketterer is ready for the first team yet and may well have played last weekend. It's a long road back for Stevenson and pre season friendlies no doubt too early. MacBeth may well be carrying an injury. Played at Blyth but noticed him hanging around in a tracksuit at Grangemouth.
  17. We might well do that but it is the Challenge Cup, a competition with little if any merit, and it could give Jackie a further chance to try out some of players in a more competitive game. Unless they've changed the rules we can't play trialists (maybe run the course with that anyway ) but I wouldn't be surprised if McNamara uses the opportunity to tinker about with squad.
  18. How fast was Graham Seabiscuit Gibson? Genuine question as he was supposed to have had a remarkable 100 metres time. Unfortunately that was without a football.
  19. What exactly are you on about? Why would we loan out our young players? I can see the point with say Burns if we signed a new forward or perhaps Scully if we signed another goalie but who else playing tonight should we loan out and why?
  20. I'll be going but I noticed THIS for those unable to go. Wow!
