Football is all about opinions mate. I posted about Osman and Barton not being a good fit in a post on this forum last season. Both players want to come deep for the ball, I can also include Bannigan in that too now he is fit. Good options to have but need to sort out who comes to collect ball. Few times last season, both Osman and Barton went for the same ball and took up similar positions. Perhaps it's been worked on during pre-season. If we continue to use Barton as DC then it's a moot point though. Overall was a really pleasing performance from the team and looking forward to the season.

Wouldn't be too upset if Osman moved on. Once Keown is fit, Barton will be CM and I don't think Osman and Barton compliment each other at all.

Playing some really good football against a poor st mirren team. Forward play is a joy to watch at times. Also strip doesn't look too bad on the pitch especially against a team in black/white

As much as McDonald annoys me with his antics, I would be happy if he signs for us for the season. We need another forward and his hold up play is excellent, which would allow attacking midfielders to join in the attack. We still lack a bit of guile/being streetwise and he would definitely add that to the squad.

1st game of the season and we got a draw against a team from league below. Not the ideal start but we only lost the bonus point on penalties. Clear we need some new players in defence and attack. No point signing players that are not better than what we have already or just to fill the bench.

Was a decent guy who tried hard but just not good enough last season. 45 shots, 23 on target with 2 goals and 1 assist. Doolan apart, who was our last "Striker" to score more than 10 goals in a season?

Away to Hibs for the 1st game is a good way to start the season as its always a decent day out.

According to Daily Record, Accies fixtures have already been released. We play them midweek on the 25th Oct @ Home.

Oxford are the latest club to be interested in Lindsay. Reports in the Evening Times of a bid that we rejected. Certainly feel he could play at a higher level that League 1.

See we are linked with Blair Spittal from Dundee Utd. Decent player but not the most exciting but happy to be proved wrong.

We've only been pumped twice this season and it was the last two games of the season. A rampant Celtic team and an Aberdeen team that are playing for Cup Final places. Today we are desperately short of players and having to fill in as best we can.

Still to be convinced that Barton and Osman work as a midfield pairing. Both want to come short and a few times this season get in each other's way. Celtic were good last night but we failed at the basics like controlling the ball, matching runs, tackling etc. Was annoyed watching it but hard to be too upset at what has been a successful season.

Great finish but again we had chances to actually tackle Forrest before he passed to Roberts. Booth beaten too easily. Men against Boys again

2nd goal was a terrible goal to lose. Scared to tackle tonight again and just happy to sit back. Done that against rangers and lost 2 goals

Had to be too annoyed after what has been an excellent season. We still lack that killer instinct to finish teams off and the curse of last minute goals continues to haunt us. Apart from the equaliser, thought Elliot played well and same with Lawless and the winner. Doolan became isolated as we sat back and his strength is not running channels and holding up the ball.

First 20-25mins we pressed high and it worked but when we tired, Rangers came into the game more and more. As mentioned in other posts, too many players had an off day (no pressure) but hopefully this won't be the case for the remaining fixtures. Was annoyed we had so many misplaced passes which either went to a Rangers player or out of play. Based on what I've seen of Amoo this season, it's time to go. He can beat a man but has zero end product and it's just not worked.

I know that paying top wages doesn't guarantee success but we have the 2nd lowest average wage in the league (£65 more than Accies) and sitting comfortably in 6th. Watched the game on DeeTV(nowhere near as good as JagZone coverage), Not the highest quality of game but actually enjoyed seeing us defend a lead. Previous games like this we would have lost a last minute goal or worse. Back 3 really suits us and Keown has lifted both Devine and Lindsays performance.
