  1. Ifs and buts indeed. If we beat Ross county and QOS beat Alloa we are 2 points ahead of them. Then if we beat them at home hey Presto we are 5 points ahead.
  2. 5 teams in it. We have a game in hand. But if we can't beat alloa at home we don't deserve to stay up. Time to hold our collective nerve.
  3. Fair enough. Your mind is made up. Although I would argue in hindsight that promotion was impossible with the inherited squad. Erskine I loved but tbh I think that move suited all parties. Harkins I agree is poor. But...why not mention the good signings of Mcdonald; Anderson, Saunders and Cardle. I'm not sure about McMillan yet. Hazard I'm warming to. All in all his signings have improved the team. For what it's worth I think most fans would agree if we stay up he stays for next season. If we are relegated he goes.
  4. And as sure as night follows day.....at this rate you will be posting our league position during the games....every 5 minute as the score changes in each game.
  5. I agree wholeheartedly that we have fallen a long way. If we do stay up it is fairly likely to only be by a few points. I'm being realistic. It may be more. It could be on goal difference. The thing I'm looking at is momentum. The stats show we have it from January. It that continues on a similar vein ( e.g. the stats show we are top 3 or 4 since Jan but only just avoid relegation ) you think we should sack Caldwell? Nb how much of the £1m parachute fee did Caldwell get?
  6. Just read this thread. I'm sure if we had lost yesterday those who rubbished the Tenerife trip would have been on here giving it I told you so. I don't see any signs of humble pie so far.
  7. Interesting stats. If we had beaten inverness we would have had the best form in the league over the last ten games. If we stay up I'll be semi happy but not elated. Also if we can keep this level of results up we can go into next season with decent expectations of challenging for promotion. My reality is that anything could happen between now and the end of the season.
  8. Worth adding that the fans really backed the team today. No anti Caldwell sentiment around me. May of course have been different if Morton been ahead.....most fans realise we won't win every single game and their will be blips, but there is some consistency evident. Our away form in particular is far better than it has been in our recent history. I'm still hopeful of that 6th spot. I think someone mentioned hat eating possibilities....
  9. So.....a pumping it was. For Morton. Let's hope the team is back on a flight to Tenerife tonight.
  10. Just in. Agree with comments 're hazard, Doolan and McDonald. No failures today and a special mention to Shea Gordon who played well considering his time out. Rode our luck first half but we could easily have got 5 today. Nb good jags support also. Onwards to our next must win game. It's not going to be dull that's for sure.
  11. I'm hoping for a good result but no idea whether we will get it. I feel that most weeks to be honest. Cappliloew not a great hunting ground.
  12. You can still be passionate without being abusive to the manager, the team, your fellow fans. It's kinda simple.
  13. Agree with all of this. We all need to take a look in the mirror sometimes. There is banter and there is nonsensical abuse. Most fans know the difference. A small minority of thistle fans don't.
  14. I think we know what the reaction would be....fans are fickle. Nature of the game. However most people on here would warmly welcome McCall back if that occasion arises. Never a dull moment being a Thistle fan. With regard to dools being a manager difficult to see that in the short or long term. I'd rather he was in the team trying to influence things where it really matters.
  15. Possibly. If we had won last night most fans wouldn't give a toss. We lost a vital game so the critism is justified. Slim margins.
  16. Yep. Perspective is an illusive thing at times.
  17. I don't get the Dools ommision either. Yes he played poorly by his standards earlier in the season but given the chance he will score goals. Storey and Mansell simply not goalscorers.
  18. Even though I couldn't make it agree with this. Sensible comment free of bile. Truly awful result. Thankfully I have sunshine and lots of beer to extinguish this defeat. No Im not in Tenerife lol.
  19. By the sounds of it im lucky that BBC Scotland won't allow me to view the game or listen to it. Clearly we were rubbish first half which hopefully means we can only improve. Worrying 're so many bookings.....
  20. A hard game but no reason why we can't win it. Will be tuning in from distant shores. They usually win when I'm not there!
  21. So if we win on Friday and jump to 7th he has taken us forward then. That's simple too.
  22. Hmmm. Your prose isn't exactly Shakespeare or indeed Orwell. C'mon you can do better than that my vitriolic comrade.
  23. I like to think I provide some balance. Caldwell certainly not my hero. Far from it but I have given him the benefit of the doubt for now. You shouldn't let your obvious hatred of the manager get in the way of reasoned argument my friend. Words will always defeat the truncheon I think you will find.
