Like you Martin i loved the publicity from the Greaves deal, the merchandise and it being easy to reach in the city centre.
I have heard however that the way the Greaves deal was set up is that the club barely received a penny for it and income wise it was by far Greaves that got the ideal deal, so in that sense i can see why they have decided to go with someone else, if Greaves were not willing to adjust. It doesnt sound like a great deal for the club was negotiated although this may have taken place during Covid anyway when most shops etc were closed or on furlough. Although not entirely sure how far renegotiating went to get a better deal.
It looks like financially any agreement with Macron or whoever will obviously benefit the club far more.
