  1. Radio review seemed to suggest that Murray may have been responsible for the penalty which played a part in perhaps costing us 3 points
  2. I remember Danny Lennon getting promotion to the second divison then got them through the play off to the first. Dont think that has been done with a team since - I may be wrong. Paul Hartley has got Allao promoted from third to second and could be in with a shout for the play offs to the first - definetly has serious potential and as previously said surely we could afford the money to take him off Alloa
  3. Dave do you know if Livingston would require compensation for him?
  4. In what way are Paul Hartley or Ian Murray has beens?People say we cant consider Ian Murray of Dumbarton because he has only managed a few games - well not that much less than Evans. Some say we couldnt get Harltey or Johnson from QOS because we would have to pay compensation - Is their not more chance we would need to pay even more compensation to someone who Manages a first divison team?
  5. If you have concnerns about the appoinment of McPherson, McIntyre, Calderwood or whoever - no harm in emailing the club or Beattie - as a fan your entitled to your viewpoint and they can either ignore it or take it into consideration, if they end up going with someone like McPherson they cant claim its the fans popular choice. Personally a McPherson, Dodds, or McIntyre smells of desperation - someone they can get on the cheap. My own opinion would have been Hartley someone relatively young, ambition, good contacts and who I personally believe will take the club far and who the board should not be frightened of spending money to get - I dont think any compensation to Alloa would match even half what Dundee United gave us for Jackie. Obviously everyone has their own opinion on who they would like as replacement anyway.
  6. Would have also thought with Jackie and Sid away, and Archie for now concentrating on Managerial and would thought a good chance of Assistant Manager if the club dont appoint him permanently then David would have become involved with the youth teams with all his useful experience
  7. Are you sure about Kenny, Hinchy and Maxi staying as someone had mentioned on tuesday that Kenny Was away. Great news if the 3 are staying
  8. My worry is if they are relegated and we are still in the first divison they will do their usual and just buy their way back up
  9. Thanks David for your many years of being a legend to the Jags. Once a legend always a legend. All the best David
  10. Apologies if this has been posted before but a great wee story here about young lad desperate to join the Jags no matter who else comes a knocking: http://www.clydebankpost.co.uk/sport/roundup/articles/2013/01/30/444214-youngster-seals-move-to-partick-thistle/ All the best Harry with the Jags
  11. McCall was on a 3 year contract though I thought? Jackie was on a 1 year rolling contract
  12. He did that just about a year ago with Queen of the South but not really sure that was a positive sign Besides Billy Reid got Hamilton out the divison for a while if we are looking at experience and is far better at Managing youth set ups than McPherson would be
  13. I hope personally its not McPherson. Not done anything since leaving QOS under a cloud
  14. Im surprised a few people say we couldnt afford Hartley at Alloa but should go for Evans at Livingston - surely Livingston would recquire even more compo than Hartley
  15. Though Yogi Hughes was involved for a bit as well, though not to sure how good they were playing under him
  16. Surprised at quite a few mentioning Bollan - if he was that good then why has he not been sought after by clubs since he was sacked at Livingston
  17. Realistically Will I cant see the board going for an option of another teams manager anyway because it would cost money
  18. Unfortunately the last of his concerns or Dundee United would be how Thistle fans are now feeling, expect several to be off to Tannadice in the summer, mybe not now because the window is about to close
  19. When he was with the Pars and got promotion they had by far the biggest budget in the divison and even then he nearly lost the title to Raith Rovers so personally would be a no from me
  20. Was Craig Levein not at Raith Rovers for 5 mins before joining Dundee United. I was puzzled by someone saying Hartley would be a no because we would have to pay Alloa compensation, surely compensation for Alloa would likely be a lot less than what we get from United
  21. Nothing against you personally mate but your club in the last few years:Stabbed us in the back with the 10,000 seats rule along with other clubs of course Insisted on keeping the ridiculous one up one down rule in the SPL Last time we played you in the cup rallied round your player who punched the ball into the net ie cheated and moaned at Thistle for being sore losers in 2010 Have now pinched the best Manager we have had in over 10 years Will now be pinching our best players So realistically dont be too surprised to see a bit of anger from Jags fans just now
  22. Surely David Rowson knows the club better than Shuggie? For what its worth my choices would be one of Billy Reid, Owen Coyle, Derek McInnes, Ian Murray, Colin Cameron or Paul Hartley. We probably wont consider any of them but they are my choices. Really could not be bothered with the likes of Calderwood, Duffy, Chisholm etc And I think at this stage Archie, Shuggie Murray would be too much of a gamble more so than Jackie was when he was appointed though I do realise he was a bit of a gamble as well. Would be happy with Archie as assistant to any of my choices on the top line but I guess its up to the Manager to appoint who he wants as assistant
  23. Has Bollan really been more successful than Hartley. Hartley may be many things but not convinced he is unintelligent
  24. Unfortunately I cant see that. This has to be damaging to our promotion bid no matter who we get as replacement Theres an even greater chance of players leaving to Dundee United in the summer If it was the case I would expect us to have been actively looking for a replacement. There are rumours that McNamara is left for free and while thats likely to be a pile of rubbish if it was true I would be questioning why Beattie was flaunting McNamara on a new improved contract a few weeks ago
