  1. There are particular games that still hurt like hell and the 0-4 to Hearts is def in the top 5. I was 15 at Whitburn Academy so no dosh to get to Glasgow and game admission so had to go to school. Someone in the geography class said 'are Thistle no playin the day' and I said to the Hearts supporting teacher...och Thistle will win. He was quite sarcastic and dismissive in his reply. So when the score came in after school I was gutted. Especially gettin beat so heavily at home.
  2. For all thats being said about Millar today (some of which I agree with) I have to say that he dropped into midfield occasionaly due to the fact that there was nothing creative happening there. When Millar dropped back he actually played some decent passes forward. Also, credit to Queens. They were very competent, closed us down and looked more dangerous. Dobbie is a class act. Cant think of anything good to say about us apart from Fox's magnificent save and Robson was passable.
  3. I was a young lad but remember folk called Willie Cunningham 'Twiggy'. That looks like Tommy Gibb.
  4. It was my first testimonial today and tbh it did feel a bit strange..in that there was no shouting 'get the finger oot ya ####' or get intae these '****'. I agree that the overall feeling I had was sadness mixed with happiness for Kris and his family. Sadness at the players we had. We didnt know good we had it a few years ago...SOD, Taylor-Sinclair, Erskine, Lawless and Kris. Have to also say there were some good goals, we scored a few beauts as did Robson and Donata/Donati. All the best Kris. Hopefully see u and Squiddy back again.
  5. Have to give credit to Alloa. On that performance most teams will find it hard against them. OK, we were poor in the first half especially but don't take anything away from them. They rarely wasted a ball and continually closed us down and I lost count of the times they blocked one of our clearances or passes. Nothing fancy, just very organised. In saying that we let their players pick up the ball and run 10, 20, 30 or 40 yards unchallenged. As soon as we got it they were on us very quick and we had no space. I cant remember Sneddon having a decent save to make so give some credit to our defence. We had the doughnut shape sometimes (nothing in the middle) which allowed them to do that. O'Ware looks class and I liked the look of Jones when he came on. Needs to be on from the start as does Miller. Hopefully we'll see a difference on Friday with it being at home also. Big time wasting keeper can be annoying but he pulled off 2 world class saves and he looks a good keeper.
  6. Followed the love my life since 1959 and have thrown many 'I'm no goin back tantrum'. But of course always did' Watched so much sh*t over the years and shared glory games now and then with most of you. I gave him the benefit of the doubt as I dont like to see anyone lose their jobs or shout abuse at them....but I will not be back till he goes. If I didnt know better I would think he's trying to sabotage our club. We arent creating any chances, and he doesnt pick the most creative player we have. What profile did he do on Erskine for his interview? I can hardly type coherently I am so angry. In a nutshell.....Are you fnkn blind man??? Storey....WTF!!! STOREY......!!! Just play 10 men from the start it's the better option. A team with sideways passes and more sideways passes. Needed someone with a quick mind and a great first touch and we had him (plus his second touch was always so quick too). He moved forward as soon as he got the ball as it was his instinct.....unlike most of the others who's instinct was to stop and go back or play a safe ball. I'm so sad, gutted and angry and what I've posted doesnt come near how I want to convey my feelings. So, apologies for the rant....we love you Chris and thanks for the memories big man. Caldwell, you should have listened to the fans. Too late now.
