We are going bigly. We're Stateside, after all. So this has to be the biggest, the best and the shiniest ever. The number of countries competing is up from 32 to 48. The number of games increases to 104 (previously 64). After the Group stage we have Round of 32, Round of 16, Quarters, Semis, Third Place & Final. Initially there are 12 groups of 4 teams. The top 2 in each group progress automatically. Additionally, the 8 best performing 3rd placed teams also go through. Our competition is in two parts. For the group stage you must place the teams in the order you think they will finish in their group. In the knockout phase we revert to HAHAs for each game. There will be bonuses. If you get all 4 teams in a group in the right order there will be a bonus point. You must identify the groups from which you think the third placed team will progress. Correct predictions will double the points accrued for that group. There will be a Trump Card (gold in colour) in play during the knockout phase. Pick one country. All points gained by that team in the knockout phase will be doubled. You must declare your Trump team at the start of the competition. Finally I love running these competitions but it's a fair bit of work. The more players there are the easier it becomes for me. So, please, let's make this a super-sized competition. After all, apart from queueing for petrol, what else have you got to do for the summer?
