If we don,t get any football behind closed doors to cheer on next season because League 1 is a no go, there is actually another Jags team at Firhill.  The Ladies have been playing in SWPL2 for a few seasons and maybe we could try and channel our support there and if half way thru their season they allow some socially distanced  attendance at the ladies games then it would be easy to move there matches from Petershill and spread a 1000 people across Firhill stadium.  I think we have to think of everyway we can to get through this period financially and stay afloat.

Anyone think there is a strong case for our well-informed football administrators extending the transfer window? The Championship won't be starting until October at the earliest and leagues 1&2 your guess is as good as mine. Do they expect clubs to sign players by the end of August and pay them for months without kicking a ball?

Agreed and theres even more of an urgency for the football administrators actually make a decision if they are going to allow clubs to mothball and when league 1 and 2 can start given they have allowed the champiosnhip to start in october

The SPFL must  have a duty to create a viable  league structure  to accommodate every member club that wishes to participate in the 2020/21 season.   All Championship, League 1 and League 2 clubs should have to declare their intentions by the end of June as to whether they intend to do so or not.   If it's financially 'too risky' to put a team on the park behind closed doors then so be it,  let these clubs mothball and they can apply to 'rejoin' the SPFL league at sometime in the future.

All leagues should start at the same time as the Premiership in August.

That would allow the possibility of an expanded Championship of up to  19 clubs if there are not enough to make up a 3rd Tier of at least 10 teams.

Having enforced demotion on us, to deny us the opportunity to actually play matches for (at least?) a season surely would have to be legally challenged?

To be fair Maxwell was always useless and promoted way beyond his capability.

As for the SPFA - the protectors of the people who actually earn their living from the game and not a peep.

As a cynic, I'd say that might be more evidence of a bigger plot to kill off some small clubs that are considered no more than weeds, so that any income can be spread around a smaller number of chosen clubs.

I'm rather surprised that the proposed championship 27 game appears to be acceptable. I wouldn't be the least surprised if some clubs already know that they'll be the ones getting 14 home games.

What an utter shambles this shut-down, reconstruction and season opening up has been. The SPFL should hang it’s collective head in shame. And the SFA have done Sweet F*** All to encourage a more positive outcome.

Selfish clubs, chasing the TV money. Scottish Football is dead on its back now.

Agree. Scottish football is morally bankrupt. Also have the SPFL put in new rules  about what happens if a  league season is cancelled prematurely  ? Probably not. Once the Premier league fixtures are released, this whole sorry farce/debacle will be forgotten. The only subject the media will be interested in will be if Celtic can get 10 in a row or can sevco stop them. Whatever is happening to Thistle and other teams struggling will be no more than an after thought.:angry2:

All true but as the first "rule" is to kowtow to SKY TV then hardly surprising. Doncaster & Co are merely delivering what's paramount to the SPFL. Of course what should be paramount to the SPFL is a duty of care to all its members but that horse has long bolted.

Agreed , contrast to Bill Leckie’s column yesterday in the Sun which was an absolute nonsense for an experienced journalist, revisiting past managers Caldwell and Levein , not quite sure what that’s got to do with the scenario we’re in just now .

No criticism of Doncaster and Co and apparently it’s “ rotten luck “ we didn’t get to play our game in hand .

What an ******** he is .

Wait till the fixtures come out and see if the Celtic manager's "suggestion" that Old Firm matches should be scheduled as late as they can be to give them best chance of having paying customers.  Probably Sky will have to be consulted.  Add to that the fixtures after the split being doctored so that one winning the championship against the other has to be avoided if at all possible.  This must be the only league in the world where two clubs can influence when they play each other.

Aye their games will be as late as possible, if the fixtures are completely random then how have the OF never played each other on day 1 of the season aswell? It’s always 7/8/9 games in when it means something! Fix!
