What if they shut down the season?

I don't think a club(s) should be punished if a player contracts Covid-19 and as a consequence can't fulfil a fixture providing they can demonstrate that all appropriate protocols were followed.

A club(s) should be punished, however, if they are unable to fulfil a fixture due to breaches in Covid protocol by their player(s) irrespective of whether any player(s) subsequently contracts Covid-19 or not.

It's not unreasonable to expect clubs to be responsible for the actions of their players.

Exactly, but no chance of it happening now that Aberdeen and Celtic haven’t been punished

Good statement from Hearts.  The farce which is Scottish football continues.

The SPFL need to be seen to be doing something..so instead of acting against those involved Celtic, Aberdeen, their players with hefty fines etc, points deductions, they penalise the lower leagues so they can be seen as taking action..while keeping Celtic etc. on side- pathetic

That's a total shocker for the Jam Tarts but not surprising at all from the idiots running the game aided and abetted by parochial wee backstabbing clubs now greeting about it no being fair that the JT are training and we urny - utter shambles.

Moving albeit slowly from possibility towards probability.

... once Hearts lose their Scottish Cup semifinal there will be no need for our member driven organisation to bother opening up the lower leagues... now how can they ensure that happens... any suggestions Mr Petrie?

Several issues arise from this decision.

Hearts made a commercial decision to return to training. Others chose not to. They are being financially punished for their return, and being disadvantaged for the cup semi final.

Other lower tier teams made their decisions not to return to training for commercial purposes.  Queen of the Farce only have three registered players!  They couldn't even put out a five a side team!  With the cup semi final, there were anyways going to be anomalies in training schedules. No reason to play the "disadvantage" card. That is a convenient excuse.

I said during the court case that Doncaster only set up the bottom two tier leagues return because of the court case.  I also still have concerns about the return of these leagues.  Thank heaven Doncaster wasn't given executive power for this season.  We do now need to work with some of the clubs that voted against us to form sufficient numbers to block any proposal to end the lower tiers.  Voting rights as per last season's shutdown still apply.  You can bet your bottom dollar that the social club mendicant teams will want to mothball. Hopefully there are sufficient ambitious teams to block this vote.

All we want to  do is play football.  As said repeatedly above the errant clubs will not be touched.  Doncaster's sacred Sky contract must be fulfilled!

I think UK and Scottish Governments need to be very careful as we enter a difficult and messy decision making process.  People are bored and selfish now the "Stay Home. Protect NHS. Save Lives" has ended.  Footballers arguing with Prof Leitch who IMHO has played a blinder through this is not a good look.

Placing blanket travel restrictions on whole countries and cities like Aberdeen seems excessive.  Need to be more specific.  This virus is not going anywhere.  We need to live with it carefully.

I do worry about Thistle playing a game this season like @Norgethistle mentioned.

I saw on the Hearts Kickback forum that some Thistle fans have set up a "Gofundme"  page seeking £300 for a banner saying "SPFL corrupt to the core".  They now have £275 towards the £300, with Hearts fans contributing.

Look out for a new banner when we return!

(In the Boycott away grounds,  thread, in the Kickback forum.)
