Sorry, i just do not buy this.

Very specialised software is what you need to land a spacecraft on the moon or do a brain operation robotically . It is not what you need to arrange a fixture list.

I am sure that a first year compting science student could write a programme for this in less than a day.

Got to agree, I do the fixtures for my local pool league every year, about 15 - 20 teams in total in any given year.  Some pubs have 2 or 3 teams (only 1 table), some can't play on certain dates due to events and I also need to avoid season ending matches with a and b teams playing each other etc!  Takes an hour or so to sort out but easy enough, just got a spreadsheet and some formulas helping to keep things right.  Wonder how much I could charge the spfl?

So... decision day? (potentially)

Hoping for the best and preparing for the worst. Same as any matchday really.

Have to say that whatever happens I'm glad we've taken it the course. There were enough issues and questions that needed addressing and hopefully the process has allowed these to be properly examined. And now, what will be will be.

Reckon it will come down to genuine wrongdoing. I don't expect us to be awarded anything on a sporting fairness basis; relegation wasn't fair but I don't think that's the main point. I think it will come down to what strings were pulled, what information was disclosed and not disclosed and to whom, and ultimately whether proper procedures were followed. And if not, how that may have affected the outcome.

Fingers crossed.

The BBC seemed to have put up a page around midday today with the text "the relegations of Hearts and Partick Thistle...have been confirmed." The page was indexed on Google News up until an hour or so ago. The page has now been taken down and is simply blank. Don't know if someone jumped the gun...

A possible explanation has been suggested on P&B that they had two articles (one each way) and that one accidentally went live. The text of it seemed to be incomplete. But once it's been processed through Google's indexing it will stay there a while.

That was my thought. The lack of a headline may mean it is simply a placeholder in case. Can be seen here:

It is expected that today legal submissions are to be made by Hearts/Partick and SPFL & everything should be wrapped up by tonight/tomorrow.

At that point, only the judgement will be pending.

Well, you got that wrong. No judgement today.

I am sure i read Hearn had done a talk with the Scottish football authorities a few years back and he told them they were not very good at their job and if he was in charge he would sack them all. Remember we still don't have a sponsor for our leagues or the Scottish cup. All we ever hear about is the brilliant new Sky deal.

Yes, Hearn did a 'lecture' to an audience of Scottish Football Directors and Chief Executives. It was posted  by one of members. Apologies I can't recall the poster.  I think Hearn started his talk by saying something like "he doesnt know much about football but having looked at the figures and having no sponsor it seems neither do you"

Would have liked to have been listening it to that 'talk'.

Perhaps the original poster can add to/correct the above!

I suspect we will get a decision tomorrow and that will give the losing parties the weekend to let it sink in and prepare their media responses for the Monday papers etc.

Isn't that the way of politicians/Govts -  slip bad news announcements in over the weekend to minimise news headlines and public reaction!

My heart hopes for a positive decision but my head tells me otherwise. There can't be any question that to relegate any club in these circumstances is unfair, unjust and wrong but as WJ would say these don't represent legal arguments.

Fairness though should represent a legal argument as it is the fundamental principle  of all sport. The rules, regulations, procedures and actions  of all organisations responsible for sporting governance and administration should have fairness at the very centre of their operations.

I don’t think the arbitration panel has any politicians or Governments on it, unless you know differently?
