Admin - for some reason can't embed this video on WAT, the afore-posted Dundee game at Dens Park keeps appearing, despite being a completely different URL. Several failed attempts now. Could be an internal cache problem at your end as the exact same post is ok at Pie & Bovril?

More incredible vintage footage uncovered, a cup shock vs. Hamilton Accies (then 2nd tier) at Firhill on 26 January 1952. The conditions are beyond belief, different days indeed! Full match hub developed to celebrate the find, read all about it...

Conditions more suited to the Braehead Clan.

Absolute scenes at Peasy as Partick Thistle eliminate the Scottish Cup holders! What. A. Result.

Our top level youth class of '24 mark the 75th Scottish Cup match with the club's best-ever result in the competition, knocking out the holders for the first-time ever! Last knocked out Rangers in 1991 and ran to the semi finals…

That is a brilliant result. I see from the report that the young Jags were pegged back 3 times, but still had the courage and spirit to go again and net 2 more at the death. Well done to all involved, whether playing, coaching or indeed spectating.

If I remember correctly it was 4-3 after, believe it or not, the winning goal was a penalty! Do I get a bonus point for remembering that the referee was Wilson Irvine? 😂

The old 'Partickles' page has now splintered, Partickles (TTA) will still deliver mostly our own original and exclusive articles.

A new page, Partickles (In The Media), will house choice cust from press archives to fanzine pieces to programme articles to pamphlets to books and all sorts in-between, a place for all the general PTFC interest cuttings which don't have a natural home on player profiles or match hubs... several 'Partickles' in there already...

Not a specific Thistle fact, but tentatively Thistle related trivia. Former player Davie Irons is one of the punters on the BBC at the Threave Rovers vs Stranraer Scottish cup game. He was telling a story of when he was Player/manager of Threave playing a cup game at Stenhousemuir which was drawn 2-2. The replay was postponed so often that by the time it was replayed, he was then manager of Stenhousemuir.

24-Apr-1902 Milngavie 5 Partick Thistle 2 (Milngavie FC Fundraiser) Another new game introduced to the first-team database! This is another 'promoted' from our extensive 'Z-list' of obscure games that have insufficient info to be included. We've been chasing this one via the Kirkintilloch Library and now it's finally here via the Milngavie & Bearsden Herald which, by some co-incidence, has just appeared in the British Newspaper Archive, what were the odds!? We seem to have had a good relationship with Milngavie at this time, and now you can read all about it.

Draw, lose or draw, an ever-essential part of your PT diet. Sharp insight, positive outlook, fearless critique, intrinsically Thistle.

If you forget where this 5 star pod lives, or just can't be bothered searching around, remember it's always there in our match hubs, 3rd tab along...

As of today, every match from season 1953-54 now has a 'Scrapbook' tab entry - a small victory! As you browse our recently tidied match hubs, you might notice that the 'Scrapbook' tabs have massively deepened as we rose from 2,800 reports to 5,400 reports during the closedown. Take a bow Mr. Stuart Deans, 25+ years effort, phenomenal graft… 👊

Wasn't just the first team struggling for personnel and beating Livingston last night, the 18s made it a weird double, with a number of 16s drafted in. After hitting bottom (9th) in February (and having to suffer a 2-1 win being 'awarded' as a 0-3 loss), our 18s have, somewhat amazingly, secured 2nd place with 2 games to play. What a run it's been lately, quick and neat is the order of the day. Read all about it...

Thanks for this, I wish the club would give us more info about the youth teams during the season.

We have a 97-year-old lady in New Zealand - Ruth - who is excitedly showing her friends the Thistle Archive page for her father, Willie Murray, and it's making for some lively conversation at the lunch table! It was one thing to ID him and find a photo lately, but we weren't expecting such an interesting story to develop... capped for both Scotland (juniors) and New Zealand, all very interesting...

Wonderful still photo. Loved the way they cleared the lines leaving the pitch covered in snow. Always enjoyed a snowy Firhill usually with an orange football...

Hi Mr Archive

Your interesting feature on opposition players who had kindly scored own goals to benefit Thistle, culminating in the Livingston defender last Friday, prompted me to post a question with has crossed my mind on a few occasions. For the avoidance of doubt, I am leaving aside own goals and focusing on players scoring for the team they were actually playing for!

How many players who have scored both for and against Thistle scored more against than they did for Thistle?

I can think of lots of players who in recent years have scored both for and against Thistle, but in virtually every case the balance seemed to be positive.

Without thinking too hard, here is a quick list of 22 (in alphabetical order of surname) to which no doubt many more could be added:

Alex Burns, Joe Cardle, Robbie Crawford, Kris Doolan, Graham Dorrans, Barry Elliot, James Grady, Brian Graham, Damon Gray, Martin Hardie, Gary Harkins, Kevin Holt, Stevie Lawless, Scott McLean, Jamie Mitchell, Aaron Muirhead, Mark Roberts, Scott Robinson, Connor Sammon, Lyle Taylor, Scott Tiffoney, Paul Tosh

We can discount some players who played for us and scored plenty against us, but as far as I am aware never scored for us in a competitive fixture, such as John Baird and Kevin Nisbet.

The only players who spring to mind who might have a negative balance are Paddy Keogh, Robbie Muirhead and Dario Zanatta. Am I right about them, and are there any more to add?
