Spiders at Firhill

Recommended Posts

Should be a most useful and welcome income stream.

Neither of the clubs two home ties in the League Cup clash and you'd hope that league fixtures avoid much of that as well. Only obvious drawback would be two Firhill games over a weekend (maybe Scottish Cup ties). I think we only have two Friday night home TV games so I don't see too much chance of weekend doublers. Then again can we presume the SPFL won't **** things up?

Aren't QP upgrading Lesser Hampden?

Clyde, Hamilton, now QP..... Who'll be next?

ETA: Just saw the article in the The Herald. The upgrade won't be completed in time for the new season.

... And just read more about it. After the redevelopment is complete, the total seating capacity will be 1,774.

How ambitious are they, really?

Give it time Jaggernaut. That will soon be the minimum seating criteria for the Top-Flight.  [Removes tongue from cheek.]

I’ve always been brought up to believe Spiders are good luck in a hoose and is actually bad luck to kill them .....and as the old rhyme goes “ if you want to live and thrive, let the spider run alive “ ....so welcome my eight legged Southside  friends.....and don’t forget your wallets.

I think it's a good thing for £££. The replies to the twitter announcement were not so positive but then twitter brings out the worst in people

.....and just like that

Some supporters raised concerns about the park when the announcement was made by the Jags on Twitter, but Britton has insisted that the pitch maintenance in Maryhill has come a long way since then.

Same here AJ.

My wife refuses to kill them. Generally she leaves them alone but as we live in a small seaside/country village we receive regular visits. When she thinks they are becoming invasive they are collected into small plastic boxes and escorted out of the house to be deposited into the garden where they can lead a healthy life!  I am informed  those that are  Jags fans get to stay!!

I never kill them either; just evict them, using the old tumbler and piece of cardboard over the top technique.

One time however, I opened the widow (one floor up) and thew "Legs" out (maybe for the fourth or fifth day in a row!), but before he hit the ground a blackbird swooped in and swallowed him, in mid air! Twenty years later, I'm just about over the trauma.

Hate to say, but they are called "house" spiders for a good reason. They don't do well living outside.
