PTFC Accounts

Not an accountant but looks decent given everything that has happened in the last 18 months.

Kieran Maguire is certainly impressed:

Despite relegation to Scotland’s third tier the previous season and Covid-19 Partick Thistle managed to break even financially, get promoted and publish full accounts by mid October. Why can’t other clubs operate such a model? Revenue down 44%, furlough income £500k #PTFC

The part I found interesting was this:

"By the time of the AGM, it is also likely that the club will have announced an exciting new commercial partnership that will underpin and stabilise our financial future, offering a degree of protection from the vagaries of football, short and long term"

Although, if it doesn’t happen it will be a bit embarrassing

Hopefully we break from what has became the norm with past announcements that never came to fruition, “RealScottishFootball”,”TAG”, “McParland park”, “South Stand”, “Steedmans investment” to name a few.

Im hoping this was concrete before being announced this time.

In the report of the directors,  the following is of interest.

"At the time of this report 55% of the shares in PTFC and title to the land is held by Three Black Cats Ltd  (3BC) although the Club has a legally granted Licence to Occupy. It is planned that by the time of the Club's AGM, a timetable will have been made public for the majority shareholding to transferred to the new fan entity, The Jags Foundation immediately followed by the land being transferred to the club as per the late Colin Weir's  wishes and that of the publicly stated intentions of the directors of 3BC."

It would appear to me that the Estate of Colin Weir has been finalised, although looking at the progress of the Foundation of Hearts, the road to final fan ownership may still be a rather long and rocky path.

Off on a tangent slightly but what happened re the under canvas fans bar in the JH car park?

Genuine question so please avoid cracks about marquee signings and lack of intent. :)

Gerry Britton applied for license at the Licensing Board meeting and it was granted , so there is no reason why it still won’t happen

As I recall they asked for it because they thought the Aitken Suite would be unavailable as players were using it for changing but there must have been a change in the Covid guidelines as the Aitken Suite is in use on matchdays so need for the marquee.

Just put in dozen rows of benches and a couple of portaloos at each end. Then, when we get rich and into Europe, add a tarpaulin roof.

Solved!

Tarpaulin roof? That might 'stretch' the budget a bit. Corrugated iron. Put the away support in there, so when it pours, it deafens them!

The £518k “other operating income” on the accounts, do we know if this was a loan from 3BC?  And if so would it need repaying at the share handover in 3 or 4 months?

Don't know the specifics of the income but what has always been said about fan ownership is that there is nothing to pay.
