Auld Jag
Thistle's first game of 2022 and our first in 3 weeks. Don't know who is available to play for Thistle due to injuries and covid issues. Hamilton seem to be hitting some good form and despite our 6-1 victory when we last visited them, this was never going to be an easy game but now we have the aforementioned injuries and covid issues to also deal with. Cmon Thistle.
jaggy
Should I pay a (reasonable) tenner to watch or look for a free stream? Reality is I would be there if I could be so I probably will. It would be nice to get a win. It'll be interesting to see where (if) Mc Call plays Crawford
Garscube Road End 2
Tough one this. Hamilton on a wee run and we could be a tad bit rusty. So as per Jags usual unpredictability 8-0 to Maryhill's famous. Crawford with all 8. Edited January 8, 2022 by Garscube Road End
Dick Dastardly
I’ll settle for a clean sheet for Sneddon. Anything better and we should make ground on those above us.
Jimmy McD
I am on the Accies site just now trying to register to watch the game. But no joy ..
lady-isobel-barnett
Will we be rusty or be refreshed? Any more missed games and I think it would be the former. Expecting only a slightly makeshift starting line up with perhaps not a full bench, or two or three youngsters making up the numbers. If they're fit and well, guys like McKenna, Gordon, Murray, McIver aren't exactly strangers to the first team, so the term "makeshift" may not be totally appropriate. Just hope that we've not reached the stage where we have to use this game to regain match fitness. dl1971
Stream bought. No idea whether the enforced break will help or hinder. I'm expecting a tight game. I'd take a 97th minute winner.

Much better than some of the thieving outfits out there trying to extort £19 from exasperated fans. Hopefully the lack of Jags support at the game wont play a part and we come back with the three points.
exiledjag
I think given that Hamilton have found a bit confidence and form and will be mindful of the hammering we gave them on our last visit I would be happy with a draw. With all our recent troubles, covid etc I imagine Accies will start favourites however our strikers have been misfiring in recent games so perhaps this is the game where they come good again. I expect a tight game and if we can dominate their big striker, the guy who scored their goal in the 6-1 game, then I think we can win. I hope we have a strong referee as Tiffoney, going by comments from the Hamilton manager, will be given special attention! C'mon the Jags

He was called up by Zimbabwe for the African Nations tournament.

elevenone
Firhill only ground in Scotland to fail pitch inspection today.
lady-isobel-barnett
That's a lot stronger starting XI and bench than I expected.
partickthedog
Banzo the only obvious omission to me, but perhaps I am missing something. Crawford's availability immediately useful.
Fawlty Towers
On paper a decent side but if some players have been unwell it could show later in the game so would expect all 3 subs to be involved as well.
stillresigned
As usual with Thistle, it’s very difficult to predict what kind of display we’ll see? However, I’ll stick my head on the chopping block and plump for a Jags victory. Don’t know if that’s based on realism, optimism or faith. Probably the latter if I’m being honest. partickthedog
Have got the picture up on screen and waiting for the commentary to begin. Is there any relevant difference between using Player 1, Player 2 or Player 3?
sandy
It feels like a 0-1 for us. But it’s a good starting XI with Turner on from the start. Edited January 8, 2022 by sandy

Genuine question- does pitch overuse make a pitch more likely to be waterlogged? I understand that it makes the pitch more bobbly, barer and generally worse to play on, but does it affect drainage/saturation?

stillresigned
Is it just me, but does today’s weather and lack of spectators make New Douglas Park look even more Godforsaken and depressing than usual?
