At least we've learned that match reports can compete with estate agents' descriptions: "The game then went through a bit of a lull in terms of goalmouth action with chances few and far between for both sides" = "Head tennis and the big boot took over".

It looks as if the players' equivalent of "The board fully supports the manager" for managers is reflected in McCall's statement, "who I thought did well when he came on" - i.e. had two legs when he came on, although they didn't really contribute to play.

They all still play part time with Arbroath training twice a week being pedantic, wish we had 18 part timers playing with us just now

We aren’t being pedantic we are simply stating your claim that everyone was part time was wrongly.
they also had a £350,000 head start hence why we couldn’t sign O’Brien and Michael McKenna from them by meeting the earnings they were getting from Arbroath and work

The big difference is guys like Lewis Mayo etc  come into Firhill every day to train as part of the squad , re £350 k , did it make a difference to us when we got the parachute payments from the Premier League

We’ve got a massive playing budget compared to Arbroath, it’s how you use your budget which is the important thing , I know that the majority of Arbroath players aren’t even on £20k a year , the rest of their income is supplemented by their 2nd job.

Did anyone else notice the Thistle player who ran up to deliver a corner in the second half but completely missed the ball and kicked the corner flag instead? I could see Tiff giggling right after it. Nothing could have summed up yesterday better.

Oh yes.

Presumably the parachute payments were used up paying off Archie and Paterson and some of the poor players they signed such as mcginty etc while the rest may have been used on paying off Caldwell and Kerr and some very high earners such as kenny Miller, Scott fox etc etc

We do not have a massive playing budget compared to Arbroath- which is why we weren’t able to sign Thomas O Brien, Michael McKenna etc

That’s not right , these guys didn’t want to give up their 2 nd jobs , similarly to Nathan Austin as well

Check Arbroath’s accounts to ours

Being conservative our Clubs playing budget is roughly 3 times Arbroath’s ( 270k to 800k )

Which shows we can’t match what they get from Arbroath and what they get outside of football.  Teams like Killie, Dunfermline etc could

it might be something we have to consider going down at some point

And the £350,000

That was their playing budget, their top earner was circa £500 per week  for all we know any extra money could have went to roof repairs , what did we do with our parachute payments absolutely waste it and got relegated.

It’s been mentioned numerous times there too earners are on £800-£900 pounds.

Agree with wasting parachute payoffs money
