It was clear that was the case in the instructions when season tickets went on sale:

"Cards will be produced by Fanbase and delivered to the account address ahead of the new season."

Glad you have had it confirmed though.

As the new season has just started but my new card has not arrived this is clearly not the case. (I had wanted to test if the physical card held the additional tickets, e.g. today's game v Montrose, on it, but obviously couldn't.)

While one step to complete digitisation is taken (albeit inadvertently, by not sending out a card), another step is taken in the other direction by having people scanning the right to entry at the turnstiles. Are we coming or going - or is this just a revolving door? 😕

As league cup ties are not part of the season ticket (and have not been for several years) not sure why you would have thought that. Maybe just me and I am using a Nokia mobile phone from 20 years ago but the purchasing a season ticket process and tickets for today and the Clyde tie has been very easy and the info given out has been clear.

I have to disagree with you here. There were no instructions for disabled and carers. Both tickets were sent to the one account, which makes no sense, as there is no electronic method of sharing between android and Apple. Sure you can take a photo and save it to your phone somewhere-but it is a backward step from treating people like individuals.

I'm not sure I understand your difficulty here. As the carer's ticket can only be used with the disabled person's ticket then wouldn't it make sense for them both to be on the same account?

I suppose we are all looking at it from our own individual experience but there will never be a system that 100% of users are all happy with.

Not really as it means passing a phone back and forward at the turnstile. And sometimes I have to drop him off, find a parking space and then go in.

I think that is an easy answer to give. I asked before what the benefits this new system are supposed to deliver to PTFC. It’s great that for individual purchases it seems to be much easier but it does PTFC no credit to forget about the ones that are a not straightforward. Yesterday, we bought 2 concessions but they were still sent to the one account.

I'm sure that we would all agree that everyone, regardless of ability, should have freedom to access Firhill. If someone requires assistance then they can bring a carer. It seems logical to me that both tickets are linked to the disabled person's account. It means that they are in control of their freedom of movement. In some cases the carer might not always be the same person.
In some cases, of course, specialist care may be required which only one particular carer can provide. I don't know what your personal circumstances are @Lenziejag and nor is it any of my business to know. It seems that your particular issues i.e. incompatible phone operating systems; inability to find a photo on your phone; inconvenience of sharing a phone at the turnstile, could possibly be eased by contacting the club's Disability Officer. There may be a workaround within the new system that they can help with.

Why don’t you log in on Fanbase on your phone with your nephew’s credentials? Treat his fanbase account as a joint account. It sounds like that’s essentially what you’re doing anyway.

Your points are all very good and fair. However, it doesn’t explain why I got an email from Fanbase when my nephew bought the tickets saying that my ticket would be in my Fanbase account. Then when I contacted them, they said that PTFC had sent them both to my nephew’s Fanbase Account. I tried contacting PTFC but have had no response, so far.
Would the tickets have been sent to him if I had bought the ST ? He just had the time to do it.
Of course the work around is the physical ticket hopefully. Anyway, are we the only ones on here to have this issue ?

My own experience of going to Firhill with Robert Jnr, we never had a problem. We went up to the big gate next to the turnstiles at the John Lambie, showed our tickets to the steward and they opened the door and let us in. It was a similar set up when we went to Hampden for Scotland games also at St.Mirren both love st and the newer stadium and when we went to Livingston for the challenge cup final. No use of turnstiles required. Is this not possible at the JHS ?

Dougie McIness is the disability officer at Firhill and his contact details are on the Thistle official site. He is also at most games and checks with wheelchair users and carers to see if they have any problems. Dougie is very helpful and will do his best to help.

Good to see that people who wanted one are starting to receive their physical cards but I would remind people that it is only 2 weeks on Saturday until our opening home game so if you have not renewed or bought your season ticket don't leave it too late especially if you want your card delivered before you leave the house on the 3rd of August.

Maybe a silly question, but if you already have a card from last season, do you still need to register with whoever it is and then receive a new card, or will the old one be re-activated?

(My New Year resolution was to cut out procrastination, but renewing my season ticket has been the biggest challenge so far (no idea why), and I've failed.)

ETA: Some people might be wondering why, these days, anybody would want a "physical" card rather than a simple QR code that appears on your phone and then will be gone. Well, there is the answer! The card will always be around to be looked at, touched, passed on. The virtual "card" will disappear for ever within a short time, except possibly for what will be future AI "archaeologists." Put simply, a future dearth of tangible, historical artefacts is what we're looking at.
