Here we go, hoping for four in a row. A tough match expected at Firhill as we play another Fife club, nobody likes to talk about Fife clubs.

Another hard fought win last week gives us some confidence going into this one. Would be good to get a win to erase the disappointment of our match up their bit in August.

Raith have picked up some decent results at home under Neill Collins but have continued to struggle on the road.

C'mon the one and only team in Glasgow ❤️💛

Surely having only 3 options regarding the outcome of the match is a little restricting? Might I suggest:

Home win-playing sparkling football  and scoring magnificent goals at will

Home win-a turgid bore of a game no flair, no structure, effectively a nil-nil draw with a goal in it.

Draw - exciting end-to-end game 6 goals, fast flowing football with the result in the balance right up ‘til the 90th + minute

Draw - dire 90mins of dreadful unimaginative negativity

Away win-outplayed in every aspect of the game succumbing to a heavy home defeat

Away win - points stolen by a fortunate away team as they are totally outplayed by an unlucky home side yet score the only goal late on

Away win - dire game - late disputed penalty

Given these options perhaps the ritual post match blood letting could be avoided

Raith Rovers game at Firhill a few years back is a game i will always remember. Not because it was a tremendous game or an outstanding goal. But because of Thistle's winner, i didn't see the goal, not because i had left early or even not watching the game, i was there to the end as usual and had my full attention on the park, but the fog was so thick and from my place in the John Lambie stand when the ball went over the half way line i could see nothing and had to go by crowd reaction to try and work out what was happening on the park for the last 20 minutes or so of the game. I didn't see Kyle Turner's winning goal until about 5 hours or so after the game.

Still only 3 realistic options….the ones that include dire or turgid.

I remember at a couple of points in that second half the City end of the JHS working out that we couldn't see anything up that end of the pitch, and celebrating as if there had been a goal scored when there hadn't been.

Berra got sent off for Raith Rovers that day IIRC.

From my seat in the JHS I could see Turner's goal go in reasonably clearly. Yet I couldn't see anything of McIvor's(?) assist from a yard or so the other side of the goalmouth.

I saw both. McIvor is certainly a great header of the ball and seems to be thriving at Falkirk. Turners finish was a cracker. Jamie McDonald got his just desserts after constant time wasting in the 2nd half

Good proposal but which lacks balance as you offer, in terms of options, 2 for a home win 2 for a draw and 3 for an away win.  Your proposal, which has merit could do with a third home win option giving 3-2-3!

I suggest the following:

Home win- both teams playing well going toe to toe and creating chances with the Jags just shading an exciting attacking game.

I liked tonight's result (Morton 1-1 Ayr). Detest Morton so much these days, I didn't want them to win. On the other hand it would've been a poor outcome for us if Ayr had picked up 3 pts. A win tomorrow and we're 3rd equal and very much in the hunt for 2nd place.

Agree.

Would be good if we had a good lead going into the last few minutes to bring Stevie on so we could give him a welcome back ovation.

A 4-0 win and we move to 3rd

A win of less than that and only a freak result at QP would have any club moving league position this weekend

A half-time comment or two based on my live stream viewing. Entertaining match. Raith Rovers are no slouches, with some excellent quick passing. I think it's been the best first-half performance I've seen Thistle play this season. Everybody working hard, trying to close them down quickly (not easy, as they are nimble), and we've carved out a couple of beautiful moves. One led to the goal: a great move involvlng 4 or 5 players, with Megwa 's run off the ball allowing Chalmers space to cross the ball right onto the head of BB-G, who made no mistake. Another led to a great turn and shot by Graham, that rattled the post.

At the other, end, Roberts had a fine and necessary save earlier on, then during a 10-min spell during which Rovers were on top one of their guys was through but put the ball just wide of the post. Another of our fine moves almost ended in an own goal, but it just went past for a corner.

Nobody in either team seems to be having a poor game, but for us I'd mention Ashcroft, Bannigan, Megwa, Graham as catching the eye, with Chalmers looking especially sharp.
