We get confirmation at 3.30. on official Thistle site , then 2 hours 30 minutes later scum Morton close the deadline for a refund..it gets worse..

As someone who frequents Waverley on numerous sails during the season a highlight this summer was seeing the scorer of a certain 3rd goal, an amazing solo goal against Clyde and a 40 yard screamer against East Fife on board.

For anyone still swaying about going the ref for Hogmanay game will be Lloyd Wilson who reffed Falkirk away earlier in season and in a competitive field over the years has to be one of the worst to carry the whistle.

According to the OS the info there suggests  club's agreed the date. There was an earler discussion which included the SPFL and at  which  concensus couldn't be reached. The SPFL insisted the game be played in 2024

That's my interpretation of the club statement on the OS.

If the clubs agreed to the ridiculous date and time, then they deserve the financial outcome that ensues (that will actually be Morton, as the home team).

As I understand it Morton wish this game to go ahead on the 31st. We didn't. I can only assume it's a commercial decision by the home club. But then it does seem on face value a daft decision. Cash flow, perhaps?

There used to be a rule concerning such matters. Perhaps there still is?  The SFL/SPFL always brick it that they'll have a fixture pile-up in the making so more often as not "advise" clubs that it should be the next available date.

I think Morton have money problems.

They have sacked the company that normally operate their pie stalls which is another brilliant bit of PR for a community ran club.

Rumours that they will be letting players who are out of contract in January leave with no money to replace. So taking a gamble that Airdrie are gone and that they can avoid 9th or survive a playoff.

In that context it looks like this fixture if getting played on that date to ease cashflow problems.

He was one of the worst refs I’ve ever seen.  It was one of those performances where both sets of fans and players had unanimity of his incompetence. 
 

Possibly not as disgraceful as those who had OF bias like Young and Clark. More like Collum(not a fckn clue).

Lloyd Wilson was the referee in yesterday’s game v QP, so I’ll be surprised if he’s still scheduled for Tuesday’s game. 
 

I thought he was ok yesterday compared to some. He didnt seem to award fouls for pushing etc. Of course QP were looking for a penalty in the opening minute which he turned down.

Really? Thought his decision making was dreadful. There's a difference between not blowing for borderline decisions and ignoring blatant fouls, some of which were highly significant. 

Queens were denied a stonewall penalty early on. When Fitzpatrick was getting clean through and was hauled down, he decided to pretend it didn't happen because it would mean a red. Also Bannigan should have walked for a quite crazy challenge. He did stop the game for the minutes applause. So fair play to him for that.

Yeh you are right.  I think he was maybe the ref for the original postponed fixture.  Ref on Tue (assuming game is on) is now Ryan Lee who was in the middle for our 0-0 vs Livi at Firhill earlier in season.
