We don’t need a defensive midfielder. The team lacks creativity and goalscorers - that’s what needs addressing.

Disagree.. we’ve lacked a proper ball winning DMF all season and that’s contributed to us conceding the midfield too often. Whether Martin is the answer we’ll soon find out.

Serious question, who else did McCall move on for money in his 2nd spell? I can’t think of anyone

Milne got a fee didn’t he? It’s not even that it’s the potential.. had an eye for a signing from the lower leagues. Turner was another that could have went for a fee when he came back.

Can you tell me someone that Doolan has signed we can say, well maybe he can go for a bit of money? No one at all !

Mid table championship club again, with no potential. Doolan has had a fairer crack at the whip money wise than McCall.

I see Robinson mentioned online that "it wasn't the way (he) wanted it to end," and the "board are making it very difficult." Don't think it was fair to leak the messages (if true), but it seemed as if Doolan wanted to extend his (Robinson's) contract further. If that is indeed true, it just goes to show you how inept Doolan is as a manger, and he should be the one moved on. Don't think anyone would have expected Robbo kept on beyond the summer, let alone been given a new contract. Again, IF true, it shows that Doolan doesn't have the stomach to actually make a pretty easy decision in the best interests of the club.

Whatever the story, it is obvious the club are an utter shambles. Radio silence from the board who resemble the Jacqui Low board more and more each day

We’d be better off signing Chris Martin, at least you can get a tune out of him as a frontman. Seriously can’t be losing half a dozen goals from Milne and the same from Robbo a season and bringing in 0 goals in return, Doolan has to be having a laugh if this is true.

That's plenty.

Didn’t you know though that we aren’t looking at the Scottish lower leagues now but the board have deemed that English academy players who have never kicked a ball in the Scottish leagues is the correct way to go down.

What can go wrong we have had such great successes from the first couple with ex Swansea academy Wasiri Williams and ex Tottenham academy Sayers having made such huge successes

Looking much better off for it aren’t we ?

It’s embarrassing, we have 1 goalkeeper and 1 striker on the books at end of the January transfer window.

Onwards and upwards for us only !

Lost our best player, signed a wee guy who in his interview says( I give the ball to players who are good with the ball ) Darren Brady written all over it !

Exciting times ahead.

my only genuine hope from this window is that Turner is no longer wasted because The ghost Robinson is off !

Give this rhetoric a rest please.

Once again, you offer no basis to support any of it.

I said who else apart from Milne got us a selling fee so your point was nonsense. Sure he signed some good players but apart from Milne they all left for free.

I’m not pro-Doolan or anti-McCall if that’s what your response to me is.

My point isn’t nonsense ,tell me the last manager apart from McCall who signed a player that we sold on or went on to have a decent career?

Didn’t say your anti or pro anything, my point is we had decent players coming in capable of selling on while McCall was here, we now have **** all !

I think we need another striker. But if we can’t be creative with Chamlers, Lawless, Fitzpatrick, Mackay, Turner, Ablade, Megwa then we certainly need another manager

The problem in midfield as I see it is a lack of possession mainly due to a dearth of ball winning. Doesn't matter how creative the midfielders are if they don't receive the ball often enough. I think in plain terms sacrificing an attacking mid for a defensive (ball winning) mid is sensible.

I admit we're lacking in personnel upfront, but at the same time I don't recall many games where we've missed loads of goalscoring opportunities. Rather I feel we've just not been creating enough chances. Perhaps Martin will help re more ball retention allowing others to create these chances? That's the theory anyway. Will the addition of Martin be greater than the loss of Robinson? I don't know enough about the former.

I noticed the distinct lack of any of the usual phrases about the departure (e.g., "has been released," or "by mutual consent"...).

Maybe he was on something like a monthly contract? Maybe he was eagerly "told" he could go?
