Auld Jag
The time we now live in it is easier than ever to communicate with each other. Imo the problem is the people who don't accept that others have the right to have a different opinion from them. On this forum we are all Partick Thistle fans and at the end of the day we all want the same thing, Thistle playing at the highest level possible and also doing well off the park. We may have different views on how to achieve these goals, but that doesn't make one person's post more valid or relevant than another person's post. Although this forum is the only online presence i have, imo most internet sites have the same problem. The sooner people decide it's best to just agree to disagree the internet could be a better place for all. This forum has been spoiled for the many by a few. Feel free to disagree. Thanks again @admin you done a great job.

exiledjag
I would like to say how sorry I am to hear about your partner's health problems and would like to wish you both all the very best in the future. I shall miss this site if it does in fact close because I think it is the best. I occasionally post on pie and bovril but 95% of my interest is in this site. I find in general, that posters' assessments about games, performances and individual players etc to be very honest, realistic, accurate and objective. I disagree when on the rare occasion the discussion becomes rude, discourteous and personal - between contributors and toward players etc. We are after all Jags supporters who live and breath to see a Jags team in full flight. I hope the site can continue to function well into the future. I would like to thank Admin for, through this site, breathing new life and interest into my life as a football fan and in particular as a Jag.. I realise now that I was losing interest in football and the Jags until I discovered the 'we are thistle' site. You saved this Jags fan by enabling me to have access to a group of like minded people who are passionate about Partick Thistle. I will always be grateful to you for that. My sincere best wish to your partner and you for future good health and happiness.. All the best and c'mon the Jags.
robphil
Hi admin, as someone who has a terminal illness, I fully appreciate your decision. Football is fun but it truly ain't the most important thing in life. I would like to add my voice to the chorus of thanks for all the time and effort spent on our behalf. Speaking selfishly, you have given me many hours of fun and 'introduced' me to some lovely friends I am never likely to meet in person. So MANY thanks again - it has been greatly appreciated.m.

robphil
And just to go back to distant friends like jaggernaut, for instance, this site has been as beneficial to my well being as my cocktail of opioids. I like fitba' fans the world over (with some exceptions) but as these many pages have proved time and again, there ain't anyone like a Jags' fans ... topcat
Hey Admin Without doubt family comes first and this forum a distant second. I am very sorry to hear of the trials you are now going through and I send all the very best wishes for both you and your partner going forward. Although I don't participate as much on the forum as I used to it has been something that is a big part of being a Jag. Every time I come back it can be like discovering Triggers broom again All the best and don't forget your towel. Ford Topcat

Jag
Sorry to learn of your personal situation and also sorry that the site is closing after so many years. It is totally understandable though, given your news, and the fact that this is no longer enjoyable for you. I was away from the forum for a long period and only recently returned last year. I don't feel it is as toxic as it once was but, with tensions running high at times, it can become so. I've had plenty of disagreements with people and differences of opinion, but I've always believed that you should never say anything to anyone on here that you wouldn't say to their face. There is also the issue that written word can sometimes be misconstrued, something that can quickly rectified if in face to face conversation, but not so quickly on a fans forum. As @lady-isobel-barnett suggests, this forum can be a bit like pre and post match patter in the pub. A place where you discuss performance, team selection, club chit chat etc with fellow Jags fans. I used to travel to and from games with my son but now do so on my own, so I don't get that pre match expectation chat, or the post match analysis anymore. I'm not a pub goer either, so the forum is useful for filling those gaps. Appreciate you 'adminning' for so long and I'm sure the closure of the site will be one less thing for you to worry about. Thank you.
allyo
Very best wishes and thank you for all of the time and effort that you have put into this. It has been greatly appreciated by many people.
eljaggo
Just a thought, but why doesn't the Club begin a feedback section on its website to replace this site? After all its a fan owned Club and they should welcome the views and opinions of their owners.
Dick Dastardly
Might want to restrict discussions to football related matters. Some of the recent discussions on here might not be welcome or appropriate on an official club site 1

Members Willjag
Although we may never have seen eye to eye on a range of subjects, I wish nothing but the best for the future for yourself and Alison. Some of the shit you’ve had to put up with recently involving Thistle was out of order especially with other things going on in your personal life. Aliballibee
Sorry to hear about your family health news but absolutely the correct decision for your family. I don't get to see Thistle too often and this forum has kept me (well?) informed over the last few years. Good luck!

BowenBoys
As Admin has intimated, this forum will close 7 days after our final fixture this season. The grim reality is not far away. Will we gather here to celebrate another victory? Or point? Or goal? Or @Camallain video?

robphil
Reading my earlier post again, I realise how insensitive it was given the reason behind the closure. As someone who is terminally ill I can be unintentionally self centered at times and apologise from the bottom of my heart if I caused any offence to those involved. It was a crass post and I am deeply embarrassed . Edited April 28 by robphil
