Ayr United, 2nd Leg

Recommended Posts

What, still no match thread?

Here we go!

We weren't terrible on Tuesday, just stale, even tired-looking. We can clearly play better than that, and I wouldn't be surprised if we do, and even score a few goals.

This character (Fudo Myoo), despite his countenance, is a good guy, in red, yellow and black. He's a defender against obstacles and an assistant in reaching one's goals.

Here's hoping his spirit is in attendance this evening! (He's usually busy.)

Bugger his spirit.  Get him signed.  We need an aggressive (not Banniganesque you understand) attacking midfielder.  He could be the answer to all our prayers.

He's certainly on fire right now (well, he always is).

If he's available of a free get him signed and on the bench for tonight

Didn't notice on Tuesday but of 7 subs 2 were goalkeepers and a further 2 were kids. We had no defenders on the bench whatsoever.

Also congratulations to this young man Liam Dolan’s journey as a Jag continues | Partick Thistle FC - any relation to Jamie?

As Liam is a left sided defender I suspect he will straight on to the bench for tonight

The sting of Tuesday's loss has eased so decided to get myself down to Ayr.

I'm hoping we can play a bit of football as well as the spirit and endeavour remaining at recent levels.

If we can get our noses in front you just never know...

We have 90 minutes plus injury time to get at least one goal, no need for all out attack from the start. On the other hand if we lose a goal before we score imo that is the tie over.

I see it totally the other way around. We need to score early and get them on edge. If we sit back there's a good chance (given our injuries situation) they'll score a second anyway. So let's get them nervy.

If they beat us after us having a go, fair enough, good luck to them. But to go out with a whimper would be disappointing.

I never realized that the Gulf Stream had such an impact on the Ayrshire coast.

Agree we don't want to go out with a whimper, just think if go all attacking from minute 1 and we conceded to go 2 down in aggregate, those players with aches and pains would start to feel worse and game over. Agree if we score first they would be nervy, no matter in the first minute or 90th minute.

I think we should go to Ayr with intent, purpose and discipline.  I thought that sounded good!

I think it means we have a real go but retain our shape, whatever that is, and don't do anything stupid, for example, a Bannigan studs up tackle!

C'mon the Jags

Delays on the M77, the supporters bus I am on is barely out of Glasgow and the traffic is at a standstill.

Hope you get there in time jagfox.

Anyone know how many tickets we bought?
