Woodstock Jag
Hopefully this thread will be treated as intended: a bulletin board with TJF updates, rather than a place for tedious discussion of usual talking points (those can go in another thread!) Today's announcement is that, after some persistent campaigning from @Fawlty Towers TJF now has an EasyFundraising cause site. EasyFundraising is an affiliate link scheme. It enables causes to generate commission on online shopping platforms, at no additional cost to you. You can sign-up to use TJF's affiliate links using this link here. Ways that you can raise commission include: When you sign-up for various types of insurance, whether directly or via relevant price comparison websites When you sign-up for various finance products When you shop with various online retailers When you take out a new mobile contract When you switch utilities providers When you book your travel/holidays Particularly common affiliate links folk might want to consider using include: Amazon eBay Etsy B&Q Dunelm Boots Currys Argos Groupon Wowcher Apple John Lewis Tesco Maplin Morrisons Sainsbury's Waitrose There is also a browser extension that can prompt you to buy via the affiliate so you don't need to remember to go through individual links.

Jaggernaut
I'm still not clear about this: is wearethistle.net (i.e., this site) going to disappear?

I don't know - hopefully not but either way it is better for TJF to be the easyfundraising cause moving forward as they have more resources to be able to promote it. partickthedog
WJ. I am a little surprised that TJF have entrusted their election process to Mario Balotelli.

laukat
Not seen any posts for this elsewhere but the June update from TJF's Lesley Kane is very good and captures the concerns I have. Good to know TJF are raising them with the board and hopefully that leads to an improvement
laukat
Interesting Club Statement | Partick Thistle FC Personally I think the TJF email probably upset all the right targets going by the club statement

One indirect downside is I fear such a topic could trigger off yet another battle of words on here. We all know the situation re the very existence of this forum and what was a contributory factor towards its near closure. Straw that breaks camel's back and all that....* *not sure I've expressed myself that well but hope get the gist
King Kenny
I'm not in TJF but I saw the email on another forum and thought it asked a lot of the right questions. The statement from the Board isn't great and if anything, adds some weight to the concerns brought up by the Foundation. Nothing is ever simple at Thistle, a real disconnect currently and hopefully not more off field issues. I'm a season ticket holder and usually renew on the day they come back on sale. I've not got round to it so far (I will) but I can't say things at the club are currently making me rush to part with my money.
laukat
I don't think its just TJF and people on this forum raising questions about the leadership of our club Doolan said this in his interviews post being sacked "Behind the scenes if they can settle things down and give that leadership the club needs, then the club is there to be promoted." The reasons for Scott Robinson's move to Hamilton indicated the same problem. Dave Mitchell's interview on joining Ayr seemed to suggest some of the same. So for the board to be reacting in this way when TJF raise concerns suggests suggests to me they are more annoyed that they have been called out than have any interest in looking at what they could improve. Another wee point - The TJF email was sent on Sunday. Did the all the board meet to discuss it and the response on Sunday/early today? If so did the TJF reps on the board put their names to that response when it clearly calls out the body they represent? I doubt it and I suspect 1 or 2 on the board rushed that out without the full board signing it off.
jagfox
The irony of that statement can't be lost on many people considering the communications coming out of the club. I have serious concerns about the club board and the various heads burying their heads in the sand. It seems to be a right shambles at the moment and very concerning. Inexperienced board so get heads of various departments to deal with day to day running of the club. All the running they seem to do, is downhill and fast. On the last point, WJ will correct me if I am wrong, but I am sure that the 2 directly elected supporters' representatives on the Board are not TJF representatives. TJF did previously have a representative on the Board, but after appropriate consultation decided to withdraw this. As far as I know the TJF representative has already stood down, leaving TJF no representatives on the Board (and perhaps making it easier for TJF to be critical!). elevenone
That statement today is far from ideal and comes off as rather childish. Nor does it alleviate concerns that some fans have rightly raised. We seem to be in a bit of a mess (again).

Yellow & Redneck
It's just absolutely laughable all round. Only a club like ours could benefit from a multi-millionaire patron, clear our debt, yet still end up a total basket case. Unfortunately, with such slim pickings, TJF ballots are decided by who is the least incompetent and/or insufferable ex-student politician. As for the Board, I wouldn't trust them to make a slice of toast.
