2025/26 squad

Yes, came across well in his interview, despite it being the run of the mill questions -hopefully a decent attitude and positive addition to the dressing room. He actually reminded me a bit of Harry Milne which is no bad thing.

Squad slowly taking shape.

We seem to be doing well on the sponsor front. A main jersey, sleeve, stocking and shorts sponsors all announced is the past couple of weeks.

All we need now are the players to wear the colours.

Welcome to Firhill Cammy and best wishes for a successful season.

With Cammy Logan and Logan Chalmers we are very close to a name reversal.

Has this ever been perfectly achieved? Is there an Arthur Kenny, a Graham Brian, a Craig Albert or even a Lawless Stevie in our history?

Fulham definitely managed it with John Collins and Collins John.

In my eyes we needed a keeper, a LB, a RB and a striker before the Edinburgh game. Just the striker to go.
Another striker, keeper and versatile defender no doubt will arrive before we go to Perth.

I’d rather see Low get games when needed rather than another dedicated left back. A striker and a holding midfielder would for me complete the “first team”. We would then need some backup players …. Keeper, versatile defender, versatile midfielder and another forward. Trouble is getting versatile players happy to sit on the bench.

Craig David was played before a game at Firhill.

I think Cammy Logan deserved his contract based on his 2 x 45 minutes performances.

Hopefully he's relatively cheap as I think we will still need another right back in and we have literally no-one else in that position. Last year we ruined Kyle Turner by playing in that position because we had no cover for Megwa.

Also would be a good thing to have 2 people competing for that position as reviews from Forfar and Queen's fans on Cammy are mixed so having another option would be desirable. He's still quite young at 23 so hope he kicks on but equally we need to be able to take him out of the team if his confidence drops.

Beyond another right-back we still need 2 strikers, a central defender, a midfielder and possibly a leftback.  Of that we need at least a striker in before Friday (although I think the mention of making Fitzpatrick a temporary striker has some merit)

I suspect our transfer business is being described as a "slow burner" as we will be looking to the loan market more than we have over the last few seasons.

Dunno, but Jim Slavin' might work both ways.

Was suggested by someone on another forum but if we are looking for young hungry players on loan - could be doing a lot worse than asking Port Vale for a loan of Paton.

he’s not got much game time there, scored goals for fun in the championship with Queens Park and didn’t Baraclough used to manage at Port Vale so maybe have contacts there

I wondered before we signed Logan if we might look at Adam Devine at right back who is a free agent now. Obviously he was here for about ten minutes during the league one covid season before we binned him to get Scott Tiffoney in but he did OK at QP last season.

I only found out today that there has been a change to the rules for the group stage of the League Cup this season and you can play 2 trialists in a game so we might see Moore play as a trialist on Friday to see him in a competitive match.

I think this is a good signing that could be a very good signing. At 31 he is worth a 2 year contract. If we can  get Fitzpatrick and Chalmers + our wing backs  firing on all cylinders and give Watt the same service Graham received then I'm sure he will score goals for us.

I would still like to see mire strength and creativity in midfield.

I was very impressed by his work rate the other season when he was at Tannadice. Also I think as an attacker he's reasonably versatile. Guess both those attributes could be of importance. I doubt you could ever call Brian Graham versatile as an attacker and on a few occasions when Graham wasn't available I rarely thought his replacement exactly knocked his pan out.
