I’ve not seen any news of him signing for anyone, but I suspect the rumour linking him with us might have just been agent talking up client Perhaps we have Watt instead of Moult. It would be some coup to have them both as twin strikers and probably unaffordable.
JAG1970
Fitzy looks to have slimmed himself down over the summer. By his own admission he had a poor last season (with off field issues to contend with). Hoping he can rediscover his previous exciting form this season and push on. Incredible to think he could hit 200 appearances this season and he’s only 24 years old.

jaggy
They should be renamed as Ayr Thistle 😀 Seriously though they are building a decent team and will be tough to beat. It’s going to be a very difficult season that’s for sure.

Dick Dastardly
I think we are pretty sorted for attacking players. I had thought of another forward, but looks like Watt is going to be first choice, and we have Chalmers, Rico and Horn as cover. Unless Hirn or Rico go out on loan, I think that will be enough. Need to look at the defence. A loan of a holding midfielder to cover until Martin returns and cover at right back would be my priorities. I’d like to see Low getting game time as cover in the left. ThickAsThieves
Cautiously optimistic about our transfer window so far - would think we're just looking to add depth in a couple of areas where we're light now. I'd say we definitely need another goalkeeper and a right-sided defender. Imagine that'll be sorted late in the window, probably via loan deals. Not sure we could really afford to bring in another midfielder when we've already got Crawford, Lets'ola, McBeth, Stanway, Turner, MacKenzie, Campbell, Falconer, Lockhart (and Martin) fighting for three positions in the squad. Would probably depend on how many of the young ones are capable of being in the squad or will be sent out on loan. Another out-and-out striker would be good to play second fiddle behind Watt, but if the management team think Horn (or Diack) is good enough to do it, then happy to give them a shot. Could instead look to bring in a versatile forward who can play wide and up front - especially when MacKay has missed a lot of football. The chat seems to be that he pushed to leave and six months later he is back in the Championship. Ayr are building a good squad but there are some similarities to us last season in that it is an ageing (and probably expensive) squad - Mitch, Holty, Banzo, Murphy, Main, Oakley etc are all on the wrong side of 30. Could be a masterstroke of bringing in experienced campaigners who will have them challenging or an expensive failure.

jagfox
St Johnstone added Mallan and McAlear from Livingston. The depth of squad these two teams ha e will see them shoot it out for top spot. Ayr have a decent sized squad this season too. I'd take 4th place if offered right now.

Will be a tough season ahead and a play off and cup run could be what we are hoping for.

My initial reaction (not based on any serious analysis of the squads) is that this overplays Dunfermline and underplays Raith Rovers. King Kenny
Based on nothing but blind faith, I think we’ll do ok this year. We need a few more signings in key areas and luck with injuries but I like the fact we’ve been written off before a ball is kicked, let’s the team start the season with less pressure than last year. St Johnstone & Ross County have the squad depth. Ayr have signed a lot of experience but that doesn’t always work despite their early good form (happened last year as well). I might be wrong but I don’t think Brown will take them up. They also have injury issues already including Dempsey and Bannigan being out. If we can get off to a decent start, especially at home, I think we’ll do ok.
