Lenziejag
The 2 reasons I would give it to Graham and Wilson are :- 1) They got us to the playoffs when we weren’t going to get there if there had been no change. 2) Can we afford to lose the league’s top scorer to a rival ? Only part I would disagree is that I can see why Imrie is on the list and if he got it then he could potentially be decent however to my mind Graham & Wilson have earned a go at it next season
lady-isobel-barnett
My plusses for Graham/Wilson were they got the most out of the squad and there's little doubt the players upped their effort. I'd also say that Graham/Wilson (perhaps more the latter) could make proactive decisions during a game. What I'm less sure of is whether that's really the minimum you would expect from a management team. I'd hope our SD will investigate fully Caddis's and Imrie's history re affecting a game in play. A manager getting the most out of players of limited ability is the biggest feather in the cap we can ask for.
Dick Dastardly
Scott Bain released by Celtic. I know he is 33 and we need to be looking at younger players, but we could do worse for a keeper

lady-isobel-barnett
Leaving Celtic no matter where he goes (in Scotland) Bain will take a wage drop. He's at an age where he maybe wants to get regular starts. Perhaps he won't be anyway near guaranteed that in the Premier League. Perhaps with regular appearance money, plus a good few win bonuses, remuneration in our division won't be that far behind that of lower clubs in the top tier if there's a lot of bench warming involved? Edit: I forgot about keepers! Think we need at least one if not two. Clearly a tight budget might constrain us, but we desperately need full-backs. Otherwise, defensively, we have 3 very capable centre backs so that's a solid footing. One more backup who can also play at full-back would suffice. In midfield, another defensively-minded player in the mould of Martin is required. I do wonder whether we'll lighten our midfield by releasing some contracted players - we have a glut there. Goals from midfield are clearly an issue but we have players who can, in theory, fulfil that number 8 role in Stanway and Crawford. We have 4 wingers contracted (Fitzpatrick, Chalmers, McKay and Lawless) and that's plenty - perhaps too many, depending on how we set up. And up top, we need at least one more striking option even with Diack returning from loan. The future of Graham being the elephant in the room, of course. Who should we sign? And more importantly who can we afford? The likes of Docherty and Moult, who've been released by DU, would be great but are a pipedream, financially. Goals from midfield - Turner can do this if wevplay him in his best position which is just behind the strikrrs (whoever they are) as an advanced midfielder. I haven't seen much mention of Turner is he still a Jag or have I missed his departure?

Jaggernaut
1 hour ago, sandy said: I disagree, the boy has talent but he needs to be played central midfield I can understand some folk thinking that he's got what it takes when the circumstances suit him; I even thought he had a brilliant second half to the season before last. But in the harsh reality of life, ideal circumstances don't come around too often, and more often than not this season, regardless of where he played, I saw monotonously wasted free-kicks and corners, lightweight (almost laughable) challenges to win the ball back, terrible first touches, and a ratio of sideways to forward passes of around 5:1. In other words, he could disappear from the team and not be missed. If he's still here for next season, he'll get my support, but for that to continue he'll need to play better.
fifexile
According to the OS apart from loan players those with contracts expiring this summer are,: Mitchell, Kelly, Muirhead, Bannigan and Jakubiak. The rest are contracted to 2026 or 2027. Realistically which players should Wilson & Barraclough be looking to bring in and shift out either on loan or agree a release deal? lady-isobel-barnett
I'd keep Mitchell as back up keeper. I kinda like Jakubiak as a squad player.

Also see they have release Adam Devine who I thought looked decent for Queens Park last season and we do need fullbacks. Its time to move on from Bannigan though, we need younger legs in midfield and with Crawford under contract for another year I don't think we can keep another midfielder who is over 30. Also think MacKenzie might need to move on or out on loan. I think we need to look at moving on one of the wingers. 4 is a luxury. Suspect that means either Mackay or Lawless move on. Not sure about keeping Jakubiak. Maybe if he's low cost.
