As Scotland under 21s are playing on the 27th & 31st this month if Ben McPherson and Ben Stanway get called up the 2 games could be called off as we have 3 players on inernational duty - is that correct?

Forgot about that and think you are correct so fingers crossed they get the call too.

I have a feeling that they won’t be getting called up. If there was a chance of it, it makes the decision to schedule the Raith game for next week a bit daft instead of this week.

Like us Raith have a Friday night game next week, so you have to think playing this week would've been preferable.

No call up to the under 21 squad for both Bens so looks like the games after the St Johnstone one will go ahead.

Scandalous that Ben S has been overlooked again. For perspective here's Kyle Ure's Championship stats:

Games 15; Goals 0; Assists 1

But of course Kyle Ure is on loan from Celtic. Looks like Kyle is getting his revenge for Ben Stanway robbing him of the ball and curling in a delightful finish when we played Ayr at Firhill.

Ure assisted Ben's goal against Ayr at Firhill!

Well if you are one of the best midfielders in the Scottish Championship and your country don't want you, look at his stats.somththing Scott Gemmell didn't do..

Does anyone believe that Scott Gemmill even watched half of these players, goalkeepers from Alloa and East Fife etc , did anyone see him at Recreation Park or Methil

I’m sure if Scott Gemmill had been at Firhill we would have known about it

Re Ben McPherson and T , they were only included at the start because of their Celtic connections

Seems to me that a lot of these players are sourced by their parent clubs lobbying them for recognition.

Some of these players selected haven’t even played first team football

Bizarre

Talk about an overreaction to missing out on about 3 squads to go and change allegiance to another country. The manager clearly doesnt pick players based on current form, much like the A squad manager as well, hes clearly picking players from where they are coached.

As much as it's disappointing for Ben, last thing we need now is for a midfielder to pull out and Ben to get called up so we miss Clarke and stanway for 2 games. Selfish I know, but Ben's time will come....now given the injuries, if a midfielder and defender both pull out and both Ben's get called up, happy days we can get the two games called off and give the injured collective more time to recover

We have so few options middle to front now. Adequate cover in defence so maybe McPherson is going to be played in a more attacking wing back role with Ingram behind him.
But we are down to just 5 outfield players on the bench (it will be just 4 on Friday with OReilly suspended). It’s a big ask for a squad of now just 17 excluding the youngsters who are very much untested.

Hopefully we can catch a break soon! But finishing second will be a major achievement this season regardless of how the playoffs turn out. If we manage to achieve promotion by whatever means it will be a stunning success.

I presume one positive from yesterday's news on Chalmers, Smyth and Watt is that Fraser Taylor wasn't included in that update. Does that suggest he's not a long term injury and might be available shortly?

If we had him then it might provide some creativity and cover in wide areas
