Agree. With Graham away, hopefully we’ll have a striker making runs off central defenders. Graham tried but he was always overtaken. Also, hopefully Wilson will be able to get more out of Fitz tactically, mentally and motivationally. Other teams’ movement was far superior to ours. Perhaps even Crawford might become useful. laukat
Beyond bringing new players for this season in I hope someone is thinking further ahead. From what I can see we only have 2 players (Diack and McBeth) are contracted beyond the end of this season. That could mean most of the players we would want to keep could sign PCA's in January and in some cases are already probably having other clubs in touch with their agents for season 26/27. Chalmers is probably top priority to extend. However I would have thought we would be keen to keep Ashcroft, O'Reilly and perhaps Turner & Fitzpatrick. Let's just say he doesn't exactly have the first touch of a Kris Doolan when dealing with long balls out of defence. Latterly Graham tended to play himself into attacks too much. Quite natural as captain/manager but as a penalty box striker not helpful. Besides a striker lying deep needs pace and/or a good first touch for lay offs. laukat
I see Aaron Lyall has left Morton. I would hope he is someone we are looking at as he's young enough to develop and even just now probably adds a but more guile to our midfield. Also Ryan Mullen still in discussions with Morton. Given our lack of goalkeepers I would have thought we would have been looking at him
King Kenny
Noticed Zak Rudden left Queens Park for Livingston. A good move for him but can't say I saw anything in him that showed he could play a league up. Michael Ruth, who I believe was linked with us, has signed on at Lesser Hampden as well. Barney Rubble
That says to me that one - or both- of Stevie May and Robbie Muirhead are on their way out. May to St Johnstone is likely a stick-on. Robbie Muirhead anyone if BBG vacates the premises?? Edited June 12 by Barney Rubble

jagfox
Michael Ruth who we were rumoured to be interested in has signed for Queen's Park we see mso far behind the curve. Preseason starts Monday and we don't even know the coaches under Mark No word on Graham or Bannigan. Taking Baraclough's horrible accident out the equation there should still have been contingencies in place.
Jaggernaut
Rumours about us being interested in players who've signed for other clubs are not evidence of anything. Players are looking for the best deals they can get, and so players going to the likes of Falkirk, Livi, Ross, can earn considerably more than we can offer them. So yes, we could already have signed a few players... but they'd be ones that better-off teams had no interest in, and that would probably be for good reasons, and people would be on here complaining about the underwhelming players we've signed, blah blah. I think that for us this season it's a combination of "wait and see" (who's available and within our means) and "hit or miss" (could turn out excellent, mediocre, or worse). That's where we're at. I don't see how it could have been done much differently.
The Legend Blows
Love the optimistic chat you get on this thread when it's clear our signings will be a bunch of rag tag journeymen that nobody wants, and hit n' miss loans from the league above. Strap in for another frustrating inconsistent season of finishing anywhere from 4th to 10th Edited June 14 by The Legend Blows

fenski
Possibly do have a provisional budget - just not signed off, i.e. a formality.

laukat
Looks like Graham is signing for Falkirk. Posts on Pie&bovril of him in a Falkirk strip This feels like the worst off season I can remember If we are replacing him with a 32 year old striker who's can barely score and who has been playing in the Jersey leagues then that's truly awful

laukat
Goal Centurion Brian Graham moves to Falkirk | Partick Thistle FC Competely get the idea of Celebrating Brian's achievements. Probably telling how relationships that Brian did not give a interview to thank the club or fans. However please don't let Beastall speak again? Every time he does he comes across as incompetent or says something that just sets up the next failure. From above the following sentence is totally uneeded. “As a club we understand our supporters are keen to see new signings and we hope to share an update regarding that next week.” That isn't a problem related to Graham leaving its a general problem because we have recruited 0 players and can't even get to an end with Bannigan. So next week when we announce some jobbers to replace Graham will Beastall appear to explain it, will we get no signings and a vague promise about how we are targeting quality replacements fitting with our new mould or will we just get a message saying "Welcome to Firhill Mr J. Obber" and Wilson will be left to present/defend it plus poor Jobber forever more gets compared to Graham? From the outside looking in Mr Beastall looks like the problem not the solution
