When they say left-sided defender, I hope that they really mean left back/wing back, as we want to get Dan O'Reilly back into his optimum left-side central defender position.

Experienced, but still reasonably young, which is good. Just wish he had scored a few more goals!

He will play LB 👍

he was under contract at Ayr but moves to us on free transfer with conditional performance related bonuses. Odd, unless they wanted rid of him

Prob cause they got Liam Dick from Raith. They now have a back 3 of McMann Want Dick

Thought he always looked poor defensively as part of a back 4. Lawless in particular used to torment him. Ayr have signed Liam Dick from Rath as his replacement which perhaps tells us something.

On the plus side he's only 25 so got a couple of years before his peak, don't think he will be on big money and he should be an upgrade on Josh Reid particularly if we play him as wingback.

With O'Reilly, Reading and Low able to cover the leftside of defence it just really leaves getting a rightback or two and the defensive positions will be filled.

The usual negative views from some Ayr fans on P&B about his ability. Got a text from an Ayr supporting mate to say that he was sorry to see him go.

Can't say he stood out much for better or worse in our games against them but he's been the starting left back for a team that has finished in the Playoffs the last few seasons so must have something about him.

Happy enough with that signing, it's a position that needed filled and has been with an experienced championship defender. A good start 🙂

General consensus seems to be a) he’s good in a back 5, not a back 4 and b) last season was his best season. Good luck to him.

Reading between the lines? 😉

Welcome to Firhill Paddy, all the best for the season ahead.

So, how many Patricks have played for Partick?

Not sure how many have played but I did get talking to some German fans in The Shed many years ago.

I worked in Germany in the late 80's for a short time and was interested to know how they'd managed to find themselves at Firhill.

One of them had the surname Fissell and so decided to follow Thistle.

He'd just named his new born son Patrick.

I've told that story to my own son Eintracht, a few times.

As for Reading.

Brace yourselves for more of the same quality.

I'll take a punt that come August, every single signing this summer could have been done without a Sporting Director.

He is lying in a hospital bed in Mauritius. I would say it is a safe bet.

Banzo signs on for another year!

The news everyone is on tenterhooks waiting to have confirmed.

Quickly followed by, one year contracts for,

Who's he?.

Is this the best we can do?

He might have potential!

His goal record is awful for a striker.

and finally.

Can't believe we've given him a 2 year deal.

Hawd me back or I might buy 2 season tickets.

Looks like Banzo will be signing for Ayr.
