partickthedog
Let's all predict how the league table will look at the end of this season. None of this namby-pamby nonsense about waiting to see who signs who and has what budget etc. Just go for it now and see how silly or sensible it looks in May 2026. I will kick things off, although I do have a problem, as I cannot predict against Thistle. It seems to me like being disloyal or making a self-fulfilling prophecy. I am sure that other posters will not have such hang ups. Here we go: 1. Partick Thistle 2. Ross County 3. St Johnstone 4. Raith Rovers 5. Ayr United 6. Dunfermline 7. Airdrie 8. Morton 9. Arbroath 10. Queen's Park

JAG1970
Unfortunately I think the general view of us failing to reach a playoff spot is reasonable and I’m sure the board will be relieved if that’s the general expectation throughout the support. The only way I can see us doing better is if Wilson/Baraclough turn out to be particularly successful in recruiting fresh but relatively inexpensive talent in the next few weeks, and Wilson can blend them and some youth quickly. I’m already writing off the new season as a rebuilding one and anything other than that will be a bonus (excluding fighting off the bottom two places of course). Auld Jag
With a number of unknowns,Morton seem to be uncertain about finances, the 2 relegated teams sticking with their current managers and as already mentioned squads still to be completed i will go with the following. Dunfermline St. Johnstone Ross County Partick Thistle Raith Rovers Ayr Utd Airdrie Morton Queens Park Arbroath
Dick Dastardly
Looks like we are unanimous about the top 6 and bottom 4. I just hope it isn’t a top 5 and bottom 5.
partickthedog
Many thanks for all responses so far. Looks like bad news for Queens Park. Quite a few people have bought into the Neil Lennon hype. I am perhaps a little more sceptical about that. He does not appear to have lasted long anywhere for a while. Initial boldness, enthusiasm and energy seem to dissipate quickly. The predictions remind me of 2 seasons ago when financial challenges were revealed, and many were thinking that we would do well to survive in the division. In the end we were a fairly comfortable 3rd. The season immediately past had us tagged as among the favourites from the outset, and the club fed rather than downplaying that narrative with the league-winning budget comments. The team did not handle that pressure well in the early stages of the season. Perhaps a low-key low expectation approach will suit us better. Of course I have not helped by predicting us winning the league!

jags on tour
We’ll be bottom 3. Arbroath will finish above us. Hopefully QP/Airdrie or Morton are crap and keep us out the relegation playoff spot.

MarciaBlaine
1 Dunfermline 2 Raith 3 Ayr (or some variation of this top 3, but this is where I'm landing) 4 St Johnstone 5 Thistle (or less likely, Thistle 4th, St J 5th) 6 Arbroath 7 Ross County 8 Airdrie (again I think these 3, from 6th to 8th, will be much of a muchness) 9 Morton 10 Queens Park

eljaggo
I think we will finish 4th. Ross County will get the usual injection of dosh at Xmas from their sugar daddy, and St Johnstone will grind out wins and draws. Raith Rovers and Thistle will compete for 3rd/4th. I am basing our 4th place on Wilson's apparent greater willingness to change things around both during and between games. It is also based on us having a more attacking and attack minded midfield. If we persist with the midfield sideways shuffle, gates will fall and we will finish a skint 8th.
