Fawlty Towers
The fixtures are out for this new 10 team division. https://ptfc.co.uk/fixtures/womens-team/ Looking forward to seeing how the new manager and hybrid set up get on. allyo
BBC report on this was a weird one. Why make a list of derby fixtures which completely excludes two Glasgow teams (including one that has won more Championships than just about anyone else)? https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/c1ljvyejvj1o Edited June 26, 2025 by allyo
Jaggernaut
Some might say Thank God that "reporter" isn't writing about the men's game. (Prepares to run for cover.....) By the way, what is the "hybrid system" mentioned in the original post on this thread?
fenski
Here's the chatgpt authored article about it. It's pioneering apparently. https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-news/david-elliot-appointed-head-coach-of-partick-thistle-womens-fc/

To me that article is full of gobbledygook: buzzwords, verbosity, and mangled meaning. I STILL don't know what the "uniquely hybrid" model really means. At least now I know what it doesn't mean (I think): it doesn't mean that the women's team will be a mix of full-time and part-time players, and it doesn't mean that the women's team will be a mix of women and men who want to be known as women. 1
MarciaBlaine
As far as I understood it, it means players can be supported to study alongside playing. It follows schemes that are popular in the USA, the likes of which Luke McBeth took part in.

Err, as far as I can remember, there have always been football players who have studied during their playing careers. But I guess until recently there were no fancy but vacuous names such as "hybrid" and "transformative model" used to describe football club operations. Honestly,, shortly after I started reading that text I thought to myself "AI generated." With experience you can spot it quite easily, a gut feeling that's usually right. fenski
Yup. I think we'll all get better at spotting AI generated content. Fair to say that that particular article must've been an AI assisted effort prompted by someone fluent in corporate speak.

Presumably the AI bot was not fed any JagZone interviews or it would have scattered the odd "Listen" here and there.
exiledjag
I see Burchill and Gibb have left our ladies team to turn full time. The article on the official site doesn't say which club(s) they are joining! Anyone got any idea?

Fawlty Towers
Bit of a blow losing Imogen and Carla on top of Tiree, will need some good recruitment to replace them. https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-news/ptwfc-squad-update/
exiledjag
Agree. I thought Imogen Longcake was under used last seasonĀ and could have been utilised in midfield where we seemed on a number of games to be muscled outbox the game. With Carla Boyce going as well we are losing good valuable experience at a time when the league will be more challenging. Cutting costs perhaps!!!! Jaggernaut
Can't escape the evidence that there seems to be a large-scale desertion of the women's team. Actually understandable, as it's clear that the previous manager was much appreciated by the players, they had done extremely well in the past few seasons, and that now things are going to look much more difficult, with part-time teams such as PTFCW looking increasingly likely to be the whipping girls this season. There appear to be more clear-cut opportunities for players to realise their footballing ambitions elsewhere. Oops, can I get away with that? Fawlty Towers
First home game of the season moved: https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-news/partick-thistle-womens-fixture-change/ Also, confirmed that Tiree Burchill has moved to the champions. So in the last couple of seasons we have seen Linzi Taylor move to Hibs (who then win title), Emma Lawton move to Celtic and now in the national side plus Gibb & Burchill off to Hibs so that should be a selling point when we are talking to signing targets. fenski
Yes - perhaps the new coach knows a thing or two, and the appeal of the club wasn't solely down to the BG factorĀ
