Unfortunately the match finished 4-1 to Rangers. We took the lead in the 14th minute and held it until the 68th but then story of the season and another goal was conceded a couple of minutes later. Then another 2 goals in the 87th and 90th minutes put a better spin on it for the visitors. Today won't define our season but need to get rid of losing goals in quick succession

The new set up makes it a very tough season for Thistle. Last year with 12 in the League, of 22 games pre-split 10 were against full-time teams and 12 were more even match ups v part-time. This season with 10, of the 18 pre-split games, again 10 v full-time and only 8 v part-time.

After an excellent first hour today, the team tired significantly, again showing up the part-time v full-time distinction.

Posting this a bit earlier than normal as this weekend sees both the men and women playing on Sunday. The way the fixture list has worked out so far has seen us have our home games all against top 5 sides and the away games against bottom 5 sides. This weekend we are away to Motherwell so a game we will want to take at least a point from.

It is a break from league action today with a Sky Sports Cup tie at home to Livingston of the second tier, kick off 1pm. We got to the final of this a couple of seasons ago and a win today would hopefully give the team a lift before going back to league action.

Back to league action today at Petershill but as the away team as we play Glasgow City - kick off at 1pm. A really tough game but hopefully the players will have a bit of confidence after last week's cup win even though it was against second tier opposition.

Next 3 home games are massive: Montrose, Aberdeen, Motherwell.

A decent crowd at Petershill would make a difference.

And of course you can enter TJF's free prize draw to be the Captain's Sponsor at one of these fixtures and take home the signed armband post-match!

Only takes 20 seconds to enter!
