Today is the final game before the league splits (top 6, bottom 4) and we are at home against Hamilton Accies who are bottom with 2 points. If we win then it means the only way we won't be top 6 is if Montrose beat Rangers (Rangers are at home).

Good luck to the team.

Well that was a bit nervy!

One down then two one up to be pegged back to two two late on and then win three two with an extra time winner from a player only signed this morning!

Will be difficult over the next 10 games but rather that than be in the bottom 4 and risk relegation. Should help the finances as a bit extra prize money for 6th rather than the 7th place for last season plus bigger away crowds for the post split fixtures against the better supported teams (we also got to the QF of the Scottish Cup which is 2 roounds further than last season).

Well done to the manager and players on getting top 6 as it was looking grim earlier in the season. A review will be required in the summer as to how we can improve and the squad will need some work but at least we know we are still going to be a top flight side again.

What a bizarre bimodal league table that is.Ā  5-5 split would make more sense.

Also I note that 5 of our 13 goals were against Hamilton, and 3 of their 8 were against us.Ā  Let's just say we scored ours when they mattered!

I think the bottom 4 are joined by the top four of the SWPL2 - presumably starting on zero points and the top 4 of that start next season in SWPL1.Ā

A big well done to the ladies team achieving top 6 in what has been a season of transition with new players and new management.

Looking at the table prior to today's game I thought we were clear favourites to win with a big score.

Then I looked at the head-to-head and saw that Hamilton had drawn with Aberdeen and Montrose in recent matches. Seems they were finding a bit of late season form.

So the game wasnt as easy as I initially thought it would be. The ladies showed great character in pressing right to the end to getĀ  a result. Great achievement in what was a difficult season. Still the best of the rest.

Agree about the 6-4 split. Totally illogical! Wonder how long it will be before the league is restructured to a 5-5 split.

Why was the league changed from 12 to 10. I can't recall the rationale for this change assuming I read about it in the first place?

The explanation given before the start of this season for the change to 10 teams was to make the league more competitive and to reduce the number of fixtures. I assume they did not go for a 5-5 split as it would have a team sitting out for a weekend.

Just thinking of the other current thread about games you wish you had attended. With all the jeopardy, the added time winner and no doubt the mad celebrations, the women's team's game today would certainly be a contender. Was there a pitch invasion?

Not there but I don't think there would have been a pitch invasion. The players did have their celebratory t-shirts though (hopefully the men will have theirs at the end of the season as well).

No pitch invasion, but a great cheer and big celebrations when the winner went in.

After the inernational break we are now in the post split fixtures (5 at home and 5 away) starting on Sunday with Glasgow City away (which is still at Petershill). Our first home game is on Wednesday evening against Hearts then we are at home to Celtic a week on Sunday.

It will be a tough set of games but better than being in the bottom 4 and it will give the manager the opportunity to look at the squad with a view to who he wants to keep, etc for next season.
