OPPOSITION SUBSTITUTIONS/PUBLIC ADDRESS

To add to the above, it was singularly noticeable when introducing the applause for Sammy Johnston's sad passing the failure to acknowledge that he was also a former player of our opponents on the day, Ayr United.

To omit such a small gesture that would have created genuine goodwill was really poor form from our comms team.

We should strive to be better than that.

Can someone in the Media Team (preferably whoever announces the substitutions) explain why Thistle changes are loud and clear (even the cringeworthy "Going Going Gone"), yet the opposition changes are barely audible? It's patronising to assume we aren't interested who's going off/coming on.

Still way better than St Johnstone who, unless I completely missed it, read out only their team's names pre-match,

and only announced their own substitutions, with no acknowledgement of Thistle subs at all.

Maybe St Johnstone stopped announcing away team substitutes after that occasion sometime around 2002 or 2003 when they announced the arrival of Manny Panther for someone who was definitely not Manny Panther.

Much better with the Jimmy Bone announcement tonight properly acknowledging his contribution as manager of Airdrie.

Nevertheless, it's still puzzling why the announcer feels the need to drop his tone by four octaves when announcing the opposition's goalscorer and substitutions.

Just grow up and announce it properly for the benefit of all spectators please.
