jagfox
A tricky looking trip down the water awaits the Jags. Morton seem to be doing a little better than their points total suggests. They've had a few decisions going against them, which is a wee shame. Thistle didn't have a great showing on Saturday but im happy enough with the overall play and performances. Almost tempted to go for the take a draw option but that wont get us anywhere so let's go Thistle. 3 points please πβ€οΈπ
Albert's Ghost
Scoring early is a good habit to get into.Β Helps if you can score in the last 80 minutes of a game though.
CotterJag
Up for my first game of the season, sandwiched between two Scotland games and a gig. Rather it was at home but looking forward to watching the Jags all the same. My only other visit to Cappielow was a 1-0 win for Thistle. We scored a 40 yarder on a terrible pitch. Can never remember the scorer. Always thought it was Ray Farningham but it wasn't him....

Getting the right results will help for sure. The David Rowson goal was from a corner kick routine which if I recall correctly involved Craig Dargo shaping as if to do one thing and then doing something completely different, thus bamboozling the defence and creating space for Rowson to fire in his rocket. A few weeks later Scotland copied us with a similar routine resulting in Sean Maloney getting the winning goal against the Republic of Ireland.Β Perhaps we could do something at Cappielow on Sunday which Scotland could copy against Belarus? I can mind that cracker. When Rowson scored it was nearly always a rocket. Need a bit of help with this, but somehow I think the goal I was meaning was in his first spell and a cup game at Cappielow. But as I say those goals were usually something special. Springing to mind is his pink strip one at Almondvale. His end of the season goal at Firhill (when he could've been on compassionate leave) perhaps the most memorable of all.

partickthedog
I think that there are 2 different Rowson goals in the mix here, one in his first spell and one in his second. I am rather busy just now, but when I get a moment I will try to check out the history of both the Rowson and Maloney goals, and hopefully prove that they were closely connected in manner and timing, or else I will happily concede that I was totally wrong! jaggy
Maloneyβs goal was Nov 2014, long after Dargo left us and a while after Rowson. I think the Morton game was Dec 2011

King Kenny
He was called up to train with the first team earlier in the week, great experience for him. Given how we played for 70 minutes tonight we could have done with him!Β

JAGSMAN1968
Just read the match info for tomorrow Β Not exactly encouraging anyone to go.Β βFood will only be available via a snack van (cash only) on the ramp behind the goal. There will be no toilet access in the Main Stand due to segregation with toilet facilities for all Partick Thistle supporters also situated on the rampβ also, main stand not open to everyone, so have to stand behind goal but cash not accepted, really not feeling much enthusiasm for this. Might give it a miss.Β
Jimmy McD
How this place gets a fit for purpose certificate is beyond me, it's had about 50pence spent on it in the last 10 years.....
lady-isobel-barnett
What's not said is that the Stand seating is the most cramped you'll come across and from much of it you can't see anything like the whole pitch. Even suggesting that "the infirm and supporters with disabilities" use a stand without toilet facilities (not even nearby) is laughable. The only aspect in whichΒ Morton fall broadly in line with the rest of the League is with their OTT pricing. And for those who counter argue that Crappielow is some sort of representation of the good old days of Scottish Football please compare this dump with Gayfield. The latter nearer the authentic, the former just a piss take of theΒ real thing.

exiledjag
Morton have beaten Airdrie (away), lost to Raith (home) and drawn with everyone else. Some of their results and performances have been very good and as we know they try for 90 mins. They are a stuffy team and they don't score many goals but don't lose many either. I expect a hard slog of a game where our defence will need to be on form. I think the difference could be our attacking players especially if our midfield can get the ball to them quickly. So in summary the team will need to play well to win this game. I will take another 1-0, the 3 points and move on but on this occasion I am going for 2-0 the Jags. sandy
We need to get stuck into them right from the beginning - and then see out a 2-0 win.Β
lady-isobel-barnett
Just in case drivers don't know but there's severe roadworks from just after Ibrox til half way to Paisley. Better to use the Erskine Bridge if practical.Β
