jagfox
Can we break the league hoodoo at Starks Park? Well, we are playing and competing well and scoring goals throughout the team. Rovers fans seem despondent but we have seen that script before. A bit of revenge for that awful game which was the last match in charge for Kris Doolan would be nice. It could even see Robson's last stand.
thornwoodjag
Don’t know about breaking the Starks Park hoodoo, but you’ve just jinxed the forum hoodoo. I was two for two and just about to start this one. So we know who’s at fault if Saturday goes wrong 🤣
Dick Dastardly
With our record there, I’d take a point to keep in touch with Saints. Who knows, a point might be enough to go top

exiledjag
I can't recall the scoreline but did we not beat Raith at Starks Park over 90 minutes in the play-off game a couple of seasons ago. I know Raith went through after extra time but I'm sure we won to take the tie to extra time. As far as today's game goes Raith, in spite of the odd flash, are not the team of recent seasons and are there for the taking. The Jags, by contrast, under Wilson are improving and getting close to the Holt, Tiffoney, Docherty team that briefly flourished under Doolan. However our record on artifical turf isn't great and with Ashcroft and Samuel doubtful I would hope for a win but settle for a draw. Perhaps Morton can do the business v St Johnstone. I wouldn't have thought it possible but Imrie seems to have made them even more 'stuffier' than in recent seasons!

lady-isobel-barnett
Take a draw. Not so much based on our record there but more on the playing surface. In our favour is we've now got a team/manager than can both adopt and change things to suit opposition/conditions.
eljaggo
Posters on here have persistently downplayed our chances of winning, despite our great start to the season. While I get that people do not want to give hostage to fortune by predicting wins, the performances and especially the resilience of the team is in marked contrast to last season, and so we should raise our expectations a smidgen. There is no link between team performance and online predictions.
Lenziejag
Is this our first league game on artificial surface this season?

A game of football always counts wether a cup tie, play-off or rescue game. If you play a 'bogy team' in a cup tie then players will believe they can win again in a league game. I recall Alex Ferguson's Man Utd dominating Bayern Munich in Munich and the only thing stopping Man Utd from a half time lead was the Bayern Keeper - Neuer! Utd eventually scored late in the first half only for the goal to be ruled offside. When asked about the goal after the game, which Utd won, Ferguson said that although offside it showed the players that they could beat this keeper! I think the same philosophy applies to my exampl of winningvover 90 mins in a play-off at Starks Park. I'm not sure there playing surface is an issue. During his time as our manager Aichibakd said that the players train on artificial turf every day so there should be no problem playing on this surface. If this is still the case, that is training on this surface then it's difficult to argue that it's a factor in not winning games. Notwithstanding, I'm delighted to earn that Kilmarnock are returning to grass next season. Personally I don't agree that such artificial surfaces should be allowed in the professional game beyond Leagues One and Two. 1 hour ago, elevenone said: March 2011 it was so defo a league hoodoo at Raith. They haven’t though since our last league win so I stand by league match hoodoo. We drew a friendly in 2016 there so we have a friendly hoodoo perhaps but not a play off one 🤔. Ach lets just beat em so I never need to type hoodoo again.
elevenone
St Johnstone 4 up at break at Morton so by my reckoning we are going to need to rattle at least 11 goals in the 2nd half if we want to be sitting top tonight. Maybe my new forum name will be elevennil come 5pm 😜
Fearchar
Playing on plastic is a different game, and our team looked at first as if they were trying to play on grass. Btw, why does that stuff need to be drenched, even during the halftime break?
exiledjag
And here I thought 'stuffy' Morton were becoming even 'stuffier'!! Could Imrie be looking for a new job after today?
Lenziejag
If we are going to break the hoodoo we are going to have do it by winning from a goal down again
Fearchar
It's taken until the last 20 minutes or so (and the introduction of Stevie Lawless) for the team to start playing as if they're on plastic.

Fawlty Towers
Disappointing result today (sounded like nothing was coming off for us in the final third) but a very good first third of the season, just need to start a new winning run on Saturday against Queens Park.
JAG1970
Wasn’t at the game, be interesting to hear the views of those who were. Tired after 3 games in 8 days? Missed Ashcroft in defence? Or just an off day?…….
