Thistle_1876
Genuinely think you'd be lucky to get more than 1000 at this unfortunately

Norgethistle
Is there a connection between Lawless and St Mirren?

If there is it's certainly not obvious. With all these short notice fixture changes, it must be harder these days to arrange an in season testimonial. Jaggernaut
Should be a decent workout for both teams. I hope there'll be a good turnout for SL. Looks like there's no PPV on offer, which is a pity.

The Thistle Archive
Sorry to hear of the passing last week of lifelong Jag GEORGE MORRIS, aged 89. Was a member of the PTFC history & memorabilia group. An electrical engineer, he played his part in the first floodlights and, aged 19, he got the honour of switching them on, exactly 70 yrs ago. Tonight, it's the 70th anniversary of that first floodlight match at Firhill. The 15 month old shed (here pictured in February 1956) was first lit up on 14 Nov 1955. So enjoy a little bit of Thistle history at the Stevie Lawless testimonial this evening, and spare a thought for George. Kenny Pieper said it best... "He brought light to Firhill so we could all watch together." 14 Nov 1955 Partick Thistle 1 Tottenham Hotspur 0 (Friendly) →
KennyP
Thanks for posting this about George. He was a lovely man, had become a good friend and was a lifelong Jag. He was a crucial part of the History and Memorabilia team and we will miss him greatly.

Having him back in the match day squad will be a big bonus.
