Jaggernaut
Is there not a single player in our squad capable of throwing the ball from the touchline into the opposition penalty box?
Yellow & Redneck
Down to 10 men. Again because we couldn't properly clear a f&'kinh corner. Nice one, Dan. Well in.
JeanieD
Down to 10 so perhaps a point might be the best to be hoped for?
Jaggernaut
O'Reilly is turning into a bombscare; too many idiotic challenges in dangerous positions.
Jaggernaut
Well, further proof that we simply don't look like champions. The irony is that we started playing "well" only after going down to 10 men. Until then we were powderpuff. Top marks to Clarke, Ashcroft. Letsosa was fine, and Samuel and Watt worked hard, especially later on. All of the subs got pass marks, and looked more interested than the starting 11. Poor Ricco; will he ever play for Thistle? JAGSMAN1968
Just back from that. Yep, only started playing when down to 10. Pretty toothless . Arbroath are a pretty horrible team, loads of sleekit and not so sleekitt fouling went unpunished. Don't get me started on the ref!
Fearchar
It looks as if the refs have decided to award themselves productivity bonuses for giving out cards. At this rate, nobody will be questioning VAR any more, but whether officials are good for the game. We're paying to watch 10 v 11 or 10 v 10, but refunds don't look likely. 🤭
Jimmy McD
Got to thank Josh Clarke for getting us a point today, two fantastic saves near the end, I think our dream of being Champions is well and truly over.. Why we let Scott Martin go out on loan and Letsosa start I will never know..
Winter of '63
A feisty game with two red cards, two excellent saves and two off the bar...but overall it was still quite dull. Almost nothing happened in the first half - the bright sun caused me problems in identifying players but I genuinely had to check after 35 minutes that Crawford was playing. Chalmers was a welcome half-time sub but continued his indifferent form. I was too far away to have a view on O'Reilly's red card but at least led to an improvement in our form and we finished much the stronger team. Stanway brought some much needed drive in midfield, All the bookings were merited and there could have been others. Arbroath defended well but were an unlikeable team with serial fouling and no desire to win the game even with a man advantage. I love Firhill but the playing surface is awful. It makes our appalling delivery from set pieces today particularly disappointing. I have never quite been convinced this is a title winning team and although they have done well it looks like we will fall a little short. Fawlty Towers
So we will start the final quarter 5 points behind St Johnstone which means we need 6 more points in those 9 games than them to win the title with their superior goal difference. Must win the game at Firhill against them and throw everything at it in the other games and see if nerves (or a dodgy referee display) impact them. Not a great display today but excellent spirit shown - would have definitely lost that game last season.
JAG1970
The consistent, honest truth from the manager: “….for you sitting watching that, it must have been brutal”.
lady-isobel-barnett
Wilson may have faults but honesty is certainly not one. Two disappointing draws, tho both probably the right results. Yet at least you can see his plans. If we had gone in at half time on a lead there's no way that set up wouldn't have seen the game out. And the half time changes should have been enough to win the game. Thing is we only plan to do just enough. We're rarely on top for lengthy periods. I just can't seem to get too critical of either players or management.

I admittedly missed Dan’s red card as I was following the ball, so I had no idea what had happened. However, being a bit lenient on time wasting aside, I thought Murdoch (again) had a quite good game. No arguments with any of the yellows, tried to keep the game flowing despite Arbroath’s best efforts and he came back and booked players after an advantage was given, which we don’t see enough of. Auld Jag
Overall a terrible game. Non event of a first half. Second more eventful, 2 good saves from Clarke, 1 red card each and Thistle hitting the bar twice in the last 10 minutes. Arbroath seemed happy with a point, but we looked more likely and more eager to win it, particularly after they got a red.
CotterJag
I can sense some disappointment but that result does keep us in a strong position to finish 2nd and that is important in itself, both financially and by not having to play extra play-off games. A 6 point swing is also not out of the question and I can see St. J losing a few points in the run in. My main worry will be getting time off to watch us in the Scottish Cup Final and the play-off final.
laukat
First half was dreadful mainly due to us starting with the wrong formation. Fitzpatrick filling in as a wingback towards the end of the game is an entirely different prospect from Fitzpatrick starting as a wingback. The players struggled with trying to execute a 3-5-2 and it would have been better to start Ingram and play our usual formation. Ref was poor. Fairly obvious that Arbroath were giving away freekicks to delay any of attacks but rather than book any of them he just let them do it and it took him to near halftime to get a yellow out. Arbroath subbed Muirhead because I think even they recognised he was lucky to still be on the park.. Worst call was in the first half O'Reilly wins the ball in the air just outside the Arbroath box but the Arbroath player then heads O'Reilly. Should have been a free kick to us and a yellow card for the Arbroath player. Ref inexplicably gave the Arbroath keeper the drop ball. Also not convinced that the incident leading to the Arbroath red card wasn't also a penalty as it looked like it continued into the box. Second half with Chalmers and Ingram we looked a bit better just with a more natural formation even when we went to 10. We did look the only team wanting the 3 points. Think we look a tired team. All season we have struggled with playing 2 games in one week. On the plus side Ingram looked decent and Loughrey played well when he came on so maybe not such a drop off if we need to use them. Great save by Clarke who has been a bit of a find. Need to get a bit of freshness in the team. Chalmers is far too good not to be starting. Lambies Lost Doo
Maybe it was tactics for 3 at the back but we have Cammy Logan as RB ready to fill in.

Not a great display today but excellent spirit shown - would have definitely lost that game last season. Unfortunately, throwing everything at it for this team seems to be a long series of tippy-tappy sideways and backward passes in our own half, at walking pace, during which there isn't even an opposition player in our half. Yesterday started that way, and I immediately (correctly) felt that we were in for non-entertainment, and few goal chances. They simply reverted to the insipid football from earlier in the season, with the same lack of success.
dl1971
I'm still amazed we are still in a title race. Team has shortcomings but they are doing their best. I do laugh when some posters bemoan our attempts to play possession football. We have been playing like that for the last 10 years...like almost every team. I blame pep

Im still amazed at lack of basic football knowledge by the average punter.

I blame pep Possession football is not the problem. Played well it is very effective. Our issue is not the sideways passing, but the lack of movement in advanced areas. It is not what is happening with the ball, but what is happening off it, with runners pulling defenders out of position and creating space for others to move into. This is the bit we are currently not getting right
