Stephen1876
Today reminds me why I want to win the Championship and stay down - the Old Filth, VAR and stupid kick off times!
Fawlty Towers
Second goal is slack play from us but for the penalty I thought if the ball richoted off another part of the body then hit the hand it was not a penalty and Robbie kicks it up on to his arm. Aliballibee
I thought deflected hand balls off a body part weren't given? Bounces up off his foot?
eljaggo
We played well and were undone by a dodgy penalty. The good news is that we matched St Mirren throughout the game, so we have nothing to fear in play-offs for promotion.
King Kenny
I thought we were excellent in the second half, just couldn’t carve out the chances. Feels like a missed opportunity, St Mirren were very poor but took their chances (albeit a dodgy penalty). I hope we can kick on and have a strong finish now, this group of players have put in a great effort this season.

Exactly when it hits the chest then the hand its always never a penalty- whats the difference if it hits the foot first
Fawlty Towers
Out but thought we played well and just need to focus on the remaining 9 league games - still a lot to play for.
Yellow & Redneck
Alas, the same lack of ruthlessness that will cost us the league also costs us tonight. St Mirren were there for the taking. Outclassed them for long stretches of the game. Problem is that Stanway's stunner doesn't mean much if guys like Fizzy and Diack can't put away the easier ones. A real sore one tonight. Need to kick on now. Edited March 8 by Yellow & Redneck
CotterJag
Played well enough and probably deserved a draw. They couldn't wait to give that penalty and even stopped the game while the ball was still in play. This was basically VAR telling the ref to give a penalty no matter what. I've been sickened for years with the refereeing and it's not getting any better, VAR or no VAR.
Aliballibee
Bit of composure, bit more quality and might have taken one or two of those chances. 🇧🇪
allyo
So VAR is now being used to create a clear and obvious error where one hadn't been made originally by the referee
JeanieD
We were not disgraced - unlike other clubs today - but moving on there are important Fridays looming if we want to finish the season on a positive note.

Got to agree with this, VAR and the comedy team that manage it are absolutely terrible, no one apart from the VAR team (and maybe St Mirren fans) thought it was a pen. FleetwoodJagreborn
Proud of the team tonight, thought we were unlucky and the best team on the night

According to the laws of the game that was not a penalty! Unfortunately it was given. I hope Dickenson suffers the ignomy of being sent for retraining. Regarding the game overall I thought we did very well. We played some very good football and had St Mirren 'rocking"! Perhaps we missed Chalmers and his creative ability in the final third. Why wasnt he playing/in the squad? With the players we had available I don't think we could ask anymore. The penalty award proved to be crucial. fenski
It feels like a missed opportunity. Even though we were 2 goals down, St Mirren offered absolutely nothing in the 2nd half - just couldn't carve out the chances.
Fawlty Towers
Hopefully get Smyth, Chalmers & Taylor back for the remaining games and just give it a go, Saints might have a wobble and Arbroath have dropped points in their last 2 home games. dl1971
The performance gives me home that at the very least we can match the premier team in any play off. If we are in one.

belfastjag
Every chance in that game. I'm probably more disappointed than I should be. That's the first VAR game I've watched, and it's s****.
Jag36
Feels like a missed opportunity. St Mirren were there for the taking and got lucky with the pen. With the teams left in it don't think there will have been many better opportunitys to get to a final
Auld Jag
We were the only team who wanted to win that game in the second half and were very unlucky not to take it to extra time at least. First away game since we played them in the cup in 2016, great atmosphere. Pictures are Thistle players and management acknowledging the away fans at full time. KennyP
The harsh thing there is we were much better and St. Mirren were there for the taking. Dodgy penalty and Paddy Reading error. I thought we were outstanding for most of that.
Lambies Lost Doo
Watching on TV the team, management and fans were a huge credit to the club. Could have won that and TV pundits agreed. Stanway just attracted more admirers.
