Heard Smyth might be out for a bit and no idea if Chalmers is back plus O'Reilly suspended. Really need to start winning on the road if we want to be in with a shout of challenging. Think anything other than a win here and second would be best we can hope for.

Looks like an even game. We've drawn 6 out of 13 away. Morton have drawn 6 out of 14 at home. We've won just 3 times away but Morton have won only 4 times at home. Head to head last 10 games against them there's been a good few draws and never more than one goal in it.

Agree with jagfox in that we don't create enough chances in relation to the amount of ball we have in the opposition half. Stats will probably show we're not short of touches up the field but still poor on that front within the box. Seems to be the case regardless of personnel or formation.

If we still think we can challenge for the title then it’s must win, if for nothing more than to build some momentum before the game next Friday night.

Our small squad is starting to feel a little stretched, we need to try and put a few results together to at least keep 2nd spot.

The players have shown plenty of resilience so far this season, I’ve every faith they will do so again down at Cappielow.

Do we have any news on when we can expect our injured players back?

Not heard anything on MacKay in months and realistically don't expect to see him again but had hoped Taylor wasn't far away?

Also any idea why Chalmers didn't make the St Mirren game?

At least we'll have Loughrey and Ingram back although by the sounds of @Thistle_1876 comments we now don't have Smyth?

To state the obvious as regards travel - no trains from Glasgow (only Paisley to Inverclyde operating because of the fire) - weather looks a bit dodgy (not unexpected) - potentially sitting on benches in the rain looks unappealing and watching us on the telly is generally nightmarish.
Then again it will be Friday the 13th so what could possibly go wrong! 😡

Just wear a good rain jacket and do not sit down!

Sounds like Chalmers is likely to miss next weeks game too, and Smyth could be out long term. Wilson already thinking about free agents for reinforcements.

I would rather see players from the under 19s who are doing very well this season promoted to the first team squad.

The next two games will tell if pushing for top spot is realistic, we really need to win tonight and then beat St J. If not then I agree giving the youngsters an opportunity is preferable, but that presupposes we keep Arbroath a safe distance in third.
The board forcing Wilson to reduce the wage bill is now impacting our ability to cope with injuries and inevitable suspensions, but I guess we need to live within our means and stop running up significant losses every season.

As much as I want us to get back to the Premiership we must keep the finances under control so rather than add to the wage bill with a player or two who would certainly not be match fit it would make more sense, to me at least, to give some of the younger players a chance if required. Part of the reasoning in Wilson's appointment was his knowledge of the youth academy and willingness to use the younger players.

One of the things that has impressed me about Wilson is his willingness to change formation and style for certain games so hopefully we can do enough to, at least, get second spot over this final quarter.
