The Thistle Archive
We've noticed other club archives starting to use Artificial Intelligence apps to enhance old player photos, what do folk think about embracing this technology? Just today, we've found a press sketch for 1890s Jag, George Hurry. You can see the A. I. result below. Should we use the enhanced interpretation for George's profile photo? lady-isobel-barnett
No from me too. If you do choose to go ahead then at least note the photos that are Ai enhanced. 👍
Jaggernaut
AI in Japanese means "Love", so I thought this might be about Ally Love, and I was all for it! http://www.thethistlearchive.net/ally-love

The Thistle Archive
Thanks for replies, great to have a Thistle forum for these things! To the critics, would it be acceptable to you if it was made clear that AI had been used? The technology does seem to be pretty good at tidying up blurry photos and the results seem realistic and faithful. We're thinking that an icon could be imposed each time it's been used and also the original sketch/photo would be place in the 'Gallery' tab for reference, icon example for George Hurry:

Many a true word is spoken in jest and probably not far off. And yes, made all the more likelier if all AI has to do is exceed the combined abilities of Messrs Aitken, Dallas & Collum. You have to remember that AI VAR has to "learn" from all of the previous VAR experiences data. So, if AI VAR is reviewing Partick Thistle in a cup game, or playoff final, it already knows to cheat Partick Thistle out of a win (thanks to Aitken, Dallas et al)
